Morning, All.

JG, what is astronaut ice cream?

Justucia, what a great day! That's precious how you were so wired you couldn't sleep. The closest I felt to that level of anxiousness/excitement was the time I was going to Jamaica to surprise Steven... had trouble sleeping the night before.

I went to see Where the Wild Things Are yesterday... I was so looking forward to the movie and it seems to be having good reviews... but.... It was a bit violent and kind of depressing. I don't think Tierra liked it much either... I know its PG-13 and Tierra is only 7....

I was hoping it would be sort of "heart warming" ... no so much.

Freeze dried ice cream. LOVE it! Can only get neapolitan (sp?) here. Sunny can get the 6 pack of assorted in DC.

Happy Birthday Jawi...just incase you stop in here today!

Well it could be just me. My friend took her daughter... 5 (6 next month)... and she loved it!

You kinda have to read into it. I tried to explain to Tierra after the movie. That each of the "wild things" represented the emotions of Max. She kind of got it but not sure she grasps the "representation" part.

Thanks! I dont know shyt about this stuff! .. she wants to play the "baby game" and my Geek big brother said I can get games that are "mind strenghtening" not just violence etc..

So to my horror, I log into my cell phone provider's to see if we are okay with minutes used 'n stuff. Why did I see $132 in charges above & beyond the monthly bill, from calls to Jamaica (and Germany)? :crying:

In Steven's phone, his friends/family are listed with their Rebtel # as the primary, and the real # as a secondary. So if Steven scrolls to their names to call, it uses the primary #, which is local ($0/minute). However, if he goes to recent calls to return a call, it uses the Jamaican # ($1.49/minute). Apparently that happened enough times to come to $132. :crying:

Fortunately, I knew that TMobile has a discounted int'l add-on. You pay $5/month and get cheaper international calls. Jamaica is .48/min, Germany is .28/min. I had the customer service rep add that $5 and retroactively apply the discounted amount to the previous calls. That dropped the overage from $132 to $52 (including the $5), saving $80.

I share this in case anyone else has a similar experience: check with your phone company to see if you can reduce the amount of the overage charges.

Both of my kids have just the DS. They both like it a lot and said that for them it is just fine. The DSI has more features like internet and a camera I think which they don't need. So they just have the DS. If there are gaming stores in your area they usually sell used ones for a discount price which we did and the DS works great. Also they sell used games for a lower price as well.
