Hey Ladies i wanna say congrads to yall approvals i hope everyone have a happy holiday.

I wouldn’t say I’m a newbie but I don’t post as much as I use to simply because I have been consumed with other things that I don’t feel is very relative to the board anymore. Things on VJ do seem to center around the Visa process which is why it is here in the first place. I have stated before that I felt overwhelmed with this process and sometimes deliberately stayed away from VJ just to not think about it for a while.

When I was a newbie i posted a lot compared to now just because I’m a open person and love others advice but as the time went along i seen that if you posted certain things it might be thrown back in your face so i backed away from that and only tell certain people on here certain things.

honestly that’s why I feel that most relationships on VJ seems like every day is paradise because people are now afraid to post certain things for that reason. I would be the first to say my relationship is not peaches and cream because life is not peaches and cream but to discuss why it is not paradise I will certainly not post just because of what I seen transpired on the board.

Besides that which only may affect the vets I feel VJ is very informative, I was clueless when the thought first crossed my mind now I can give others advice. for the newbies that are only concerned with the visa process you can’t blame them we all was that way once. It’s only because I been on here a while that I would want to know when the next stella is coming out or if dada took care of those cobb webs lol or if regal got approved or if sus went to amnesia on her ja trip or if philly is still chasing cats ect… lol lol

Newly you ain't said nothing but a word...it damn sure isn't peaches and cream all the time but no relationship is. I still love my baby with all my heart but these men, these men...sometimes!!!

A homosexual man held down his lover and gouged out his eyes in a jealous fit of rage in Calabar Mews, a North St Andrew residential complex Sunday, police have confirmed.

The injured man, aged 24, has been admitted to the University Hospital of the West Indies where he had gone to seek treatment at the Accident and Emergency Unit.

Doctors operated on him and extracted the eyes, which were partially detached at the time.

Medical personnel who saw him on Sunday say that he will not see again, unless there is a major breakthrough in eye surgery in the future.

"The optic nerve was badly damaged and there was no way that doctors could save him," one doctor said on condition of anonymity.

The alleged attacker later turned up at the Half-Way-Tree Police Station and reported that he had acted in self-defence.

"The guy turned up here the same day and made a report that his friend had held onto him and was biting him and just would not let go of him, so he had to attack his eyes to disable him," one policeman at the station told this newspaper.

Up to yesterday he was still in custody.

However, investigators have been told that the alleged attacker was furious that his 'lover', described by police as a prominent Jamaican, did not sleep at his house last Saturday night.

"One policeman close to the case said that he had never seen anything like it.

"It is not a pretty sight. Believe me, I never knew that I would ever see something like this," said the cop.

"The guy who, believe it or not, seemed to be in pretty good spirits despite the loss of his eyes, said that he had been attacked by his lover because he slept out," added the policeman.

The injured man is around five feet, nine inches tall and sports lightly bleached skin.

He was treated at the same hospital for a gunshot wound to his buttocks close to two months ago and created a stir when medical personnel attending to him had to remove a 'G string' underwear off him while treating the wound.

"He nearly brought the house down when the doctors and nurses treating him had to remove a pink 'G string' off him," a source at the hospital said then.

My most memorable thing JG said was "Don't mean to rain on your parade but don't purchase the ticket until visa in hand" It was like someone zapped the life out of me, but she was right and trust I didn't buy it until he called me. That was the quickest phone call. I said gotta go purchase your ticket RIGHT now!

Ha ha......I've just seen so much on here in the last 3 years. For no reason whatsoever the delivery is delayed. Sometimes you know it's sitting at the delivery facility and you could fly down and get it in a day; but takes them like a week. Sometimes holidays. Sometimes slips after the fact. Sometimes hurricanes and subsequent floods. Sometimes they just plain lose the damn thing.

You save yourself a lot of headaches if you just be a little paitient sometimes. Whats a day or days in the whole scheme of things at the end.

Probably my hormones speaking but if I posted something negative...everyone would have responded. Not that we need a standing ovation but lasting 5 years is great in my opinion. These marriges could be very challenging.

It seems newbies are only worried about the visa not what happens after. They don't want advise from the vets. Getting the visa is the easy part. Back in the day, we would share the good, bad and the ugly. We fought, made up and kept it moving. Now people are afraid to share because of other people feelings. We all supported each other. It seems newbies only support other newbies. I have not been on here much lately but I try to support everyone.

But, in defense, newbies think the visa is the challenging part cause they don't know better yet. It's all good. Be happy while you can and fight the challenges when you have to. No one wants their relationship not to work so they are on the love high. It's ok. We have all been there. I always hope no one has to go through the bad and ugly. But, if they do, they know the vets are here to say we've seen it all before and we've seen people survive it all. This is what they did............

Shemmy, I know how you feel. Having been through the good, the bad, and the downright nasty, I get discouraged on here sometimes. But, I keep my optimism. Not everyone is me. I still believe in love and LDRs that can work out. That's why I'm still here. Not that I would ever do it again; but I want to watch the happenings and congratulate people on their good fortune. I can't live in a world of negatives.

I echo JG's sentiments as well but each individual has their own journey and will learn from their own trials tribulations and mistakes. I have seen alot of discouraging things happen on this board from arguments between members, backbiting and plain old ignorance but there is always some positivity from our thread let alone the many friendships that we have formed along the way. All we can do is be there to share and learn about this journey from each other, you can never control others actions just see it as it is. Don't leave because you have so much to offer us, you have journeyed and are a testament that there is calm after the storm. 5 years is a splendid achievement and I am so envious thank you for sharing how you feel today but I hope that like you say it is just hormones and you plan to bestow more of your knowledge on us VJers so we can see how its done correctly!

I’m glad you shared finally we have a topic to discuss….

I definitely know where you are coming from and I haven’t been on VJ that long. Back in the day our conversations did seem to be more like conversations and now its like all we do is talk about the Visa process. I mean granted that is what VJ is for to discuss the VJ process but back in the day it seemed like we talked about more life to life things and VJ less. I think because the vets have left and there are only newbies around that is what has turned the board more in an opposite direction. The new ladies are not comfortable yet so they tend to not share as much. Memba when you left VJ for a hour you had 5-6 pages to catch up on and now you can be gone for a few days and you can catch up in minutes.

I don’t have a love interest in JA no more but I too tend to stick around d just because I have formed a bond with some of you ladies. I do secretly hope it picks back up to the way it used to be but.. well.. it may not.

JQ you thought me and Sus was the worse huh? Girl you missed some good ones then. That was tamed compared to what I have seen in the past. Sus and I don’t speak I think we both said some things that offended the other so we avoid each other and I’m sure the whole board can tell but its cool to keep the peace for sake of others

Shemmy I do commend you on five years of marriage. Now a days that is a milestone and a great accomplishment. Especially if you are happy. Some couples can make it to five even ten years but are you happy is what matters the most. If you can say yes well then girl in my eyes you and him deserve a standing ovation. I wasn’t around in the beginning so I’m not sure what challenges you had to overcome but I’m sure there were some. I am with you on the backbiting. It's one thing to think wth is she thinking....it's another to ridicule for those choices. I hope those that ridicule are never in that exact same situation they are making fun of.

Arguments are another thing entirely. I think they are just a form of communicating. I don't like the direct insults; but arguing is okay if done constructively to help see each other's views. Kimmy and I did it for a time. I think we both learned from it. I have mad respect for her.

And, well, ignorance......no one knows everything. We all live and we all learn. Hopefully, before it's too late most of the time. I have to tell you, I love you guys on here for gently correcting a wrong assumption.
