U too why are you leaving us??? :crying:

O.k. if all the oldie but goodies leave who will be around to help with the newbies??

Probably my hormones speaking but if I posted something negative...everyone would have responded. Not that we need a standing ovation but lasting 5 years is great in my opinion. These marriges could be very challenging.

It seems newbies are only worried about the visa not what happens after. They don't want advise from the vets. Getting the visa is the easy part. Back in the day, we would share the good, bad and the ugly. We fought, made up and kept it moving. Now people are afraid to share because of other people feelings. We all supported each other. It seems newbies only support other newbies. I have not been on here much lately but I try to support everyone.

Off my soapbox.

Amen, sister.

But, in defense, newbies think the visa is the challenging part cause they don't know better yet. It's all good. Be happy while you can and fight the challenges when you have to. No one wants their relationship not to work so they are on the love high. It's ok. We have all been there. I always hope no one has to go through the bad and ugly. But, if they do, they know the vets are here to say we've seen it all before and we've seen people survive it all. This is what they did............

Shemmy, I know how you feel. Having been through the good, the bad, and the downright nasty, I get discouraged on here sometimes. But, I keep my optimism. Not everyone is me. I still believe in love and LDRs that can work out. That's why I'm still here. Not that I would ever do it again; but I want to watch the happenings and congratulate people on their good fortune. I can't live in a world of negatives.

JG,

You have such a positive attitude and outlook on life!

JG,

You have such a positive attitude and outlook on life!

I can't bear to live life negatively. There HAS to be some good somewhere. Has to.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

I’m glad you shared finally we have a topic to discuss….

I definitely know where you are coming from and I haven’t been on VJ that long. Back in the day our conversations did seem to be more like conversations and now its like all we do is talk about the Visa process. I mean granted that is what VJ is for to discuss the VJ process but back in the day it seemed like we talked about more life to life things and VJ less. I think because the vets have left and there are only newbies around that is what has turned the board more in an opposite direction. The new ladies are not comfortable yet so they tend to not share as much. Memba when you left VJ for a hour you had 5-6 pages to catch up on and now you can be gone for a few days and you can catch up in minutes.

I don’t have a love interest in JA no more but I too tend to stick around d just because I have formed a bond with some of you ladies. I do secretly hope it picks back up to the way it used to be but.. well.. it may not.

JQ you thought me and Sus was the worse huh? Girl you missed some good ones then. That was tamed compared to what I have seen in the past. Sus and I don’t speak I think we both said some things that offended the other so we avoid each other and I’m sure the whole board can tell but its cool to keep the peace for sake of others

Shemmy I do commend you on five years of marriage. Now a days that is a milestone and a great accomplishment. Especially if you are happy. Some couples can make it to five even ten years but are you happy is what matters the most. If you can say yes well then girl in my eyes you and him deserve a standing ovation. I wasn’t around in the beginning so I’m not sure what challenges you had to overcome but I’m sure there were some. It can’t be easy adjusting from visiting to living together in a whole new country too. Whoo I’m giving myself a headache just thinking about it….

I made it through the storm with my Kindergarten class yesterday lol They showed me mercy!

Just made me think of my 7 year old nephew, he refuses to call Steve.. "uncle Steve" I don't even think he really addresses him. Just talks to him. Kids are so peculiar at times...

MsTee,

Kids are truly amazing aren't they! You never know what they going to say or do...gotta love it!

Afternoon Yardies!

I wanted to 1st thank everyone for their congrats and well wishes. I could not have done it without the help of all my sistas on VJ. I had a awesome time with RegAl and Mamajew and look forward to meeting other yardies!!

Good Evening All, I am a newbie to the VJ site and still trying to figure out how to jump into the posts! !! Im loving reading all of your post, it is so encouraging to see ALL of the approval that are going on... I cant wait to start the K-1 process... But I need your help!?!?! Where do I begin, Should I hire an Attorney or go it alone? THIS ALL SEEMS SOOO intimdating!

Like everyone said with VJ a lwayer is not needed. Just read the guidelines and come and ask questions anytime. You'll be ok.

Good Morning Nat.. Today is your big day Congrats to you and Steven (L)

CONGRATS! Nat on your big day. You guys are such an awesome couple and I'm so happy that you can finally make it official.

just reconfimed my flight im getting so excited and nervous at the same time...

Hang in there, girl!! Everything will go well. You have all of us sending you positive vibes.

Good morning, everyone!

I woke up about every 30 minutes since 4am. Usually, I only do that on days I'm going to Jamaica. But today is even better than that!

(F)

Hey Yardies......just got back to the hotel. Just letting you know that we were approved!

I saw Pam there but I left before her so I am not sure of her outcome.......im sooooo happy rite now!

:dance: Congratulations Girl. I am so happy to hear the good news. Your man soon come!!

@ Shemmy - Congratulations on your 5 year milestone and know that your presence is much appreciated. I think if you can help or encourage one person by posting your experiences then that is enough. Although, receiving the visa is a huge milestone, making it 5, 10, 20 years with my husband will be the most important milestones. I think what makes marriage much easier is having loving people around you that want the best for you relationship. Most people don't have other couples that they can talk to too and lean on for advice and on VJ we have dozens. Its such a blessing to be able to share your experiences with others and I truly appreciate you and other members on VJ. I will definitely be looking for more advise to get through this thing called "life" in the future.

Spanglish, Jamerican, & ALL the Yardies,

This is my situtation... I Met my Sweetie in June and recently got engaged, I am SOOO ready to get started with the process.

I live in the Houston Texas area, We are not married yet, but are ready to be together! I would love to get married in JA but I have heard that the K-3 process is much longer than the K-1 so I am going to go that route (K-1). I wonder if the process is slower at the Holiday Season? I have read some recent timelines and some of you got interviews in as little as 3months :wow: That is what has encouraged me to jump right in and get the process started! So I will be filling out the app today. I AM SURE I WILL BE NEEDING SOME HELP & REASSURANCE! Thanks in advance

No need for you to get an attorney.
