Hey ladies blessing to all that is interviewing this week...

Time has changed so much it is literally a shark tank when it comes to job searching in NYC either it's a whole bunch of fluff or they are requesting a BA to be a receptionist, I will be dammed if I do years of college to be a receptionist! This whole process has been so annoying. I interviewed with this job on Nov.9th it went really well but a week later I did not hear from them so I thought hey maybe they went with another candidate a day later they called me back and asked for a writing sample which I sent them. Now another week passed and I still have not heard nothing it’s been like 3 weeks since the interview I sent a follow up letter last week and got no response. I am so confused I know the person who is leaving the company is not leaving until the end of the month but I mean at least give a response I think that is so rude... anyways I felt like the job was mines when I interviewed and I’m trying to stay positive and think well it is very easy for them just to respond back and say they gave the position to another candidate so maybe I’m still in the run idk but I am getting so discouraged... **okay rant ova**

We "celebrate" everything...well at least acknowledge milestones. Marriage is hard enough when you weigh in adjusting from a long distance relationship to marriage, one adjusting to a new country, blending families, dealing with cultural and age differences, etc....makes it more challenging. It's not easy.

That's nice it's not too far from you...at least within a 1/2 day's drive! Southern Cal is as bad as SF when it comes to housing prices! I bet there's no place else she'd rather be though, right? That's how I am with SF...both hubby & I love it here....we just may not be able to afford to live here forever.

When that trip happens, I'll definitely let you know. I didn't get to reply the other day to everyone but I liked seeing the pics of the Peppermill. I remember a very hungover morning there once! LOL! I'm not a gambler but it sure is fun doing everything else! My only unrealistic wish is that casinos would go smoke-free! YEAH RIGHT! I'm hoping we can get there after the spring semester is over....and if not, maybe we'll go around the same time my Aunt & Mom make their yearly pilgrimage together in the late summer.

Late summer in Vegas?? Neva eva again. I went in June and I swore I was walking right next to the devil himself. Matter of fact he told me hi. You know its hot when you have on tennis shoes and the heat still burns your feet. So many nights I thought I was going home to glory and I’m a fluffy gyal too!!!! Sheeze me couldn’t manage. Of course I made it work but I wrote that down in my history books to only go to Vegas between Sept-May……

I love the heat I want to move to Arizona!!!!! In Haiti the daily temperature is 95 and above to 112 degrees and I love it the hotter the better for me!!! I know you think I 'm nuts haaaa

My cuzo moved to AZ about two years ago and she loves it!!! Everytime she post the temp I start fanning myself..

GUESS WHAT????? we got the EAD yesterday YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.. we were so excited.. im so happy for him and US..another income in the house YIPPPEEE.. he's been the best hubby even not able to work, i can't wait to see how our life will be w/ him working everyday.. im so excited. next step, get ssn and drivers license!!! and another car..lol mi affi tell miself, one step at a time quans..

Bunz- About the pics- Even though we haven't had the interview yet, from what I've been hearing, If you are there with your honey at the time of the interview, they seem to not really care about any evidence of a relationship... It's kinda weird.. BUT, you neva know- I guess it depends on the interviewer too... Just show 'em what you have.. 1 or 2 pics are better than none.. no worries mi star.. good tings ah appun fi yuh

I was a little worried about this too since we only have a few we spent more time alone and no one was there to take pics we took puc of each other but only a few together ..

Hey C; unless things changed from July last year, I didn't need a SS# when we got our marriage license. My husband wasn't even with me when I applied...I gave them his passport. He still didn't have his SS# when we got married which was a week after I got the marriage license...it's easy up on my side...link me if when u get a chance...i drap a sleep at 7:30 lastnight and didn't get a chance to call you...G will be here next week........it's party time

Did they make a special exception for you? I know the rules vary by state, but I thought both people have to be present to swear in & sign the papers.

Nope; he wasn't with me when I applied for the license...I had to be sworn to the information I provided in the documents and the IDs that I provided. The only time he signed was the day of the ceremony when we got the certificates all certified I asked for 3 of them.

Steve and I went and we were sworn in and asked if either of us had communicable diseases, parents name, our occupations, we signed and that was that!

Anyone heard of Zuzu? Some sort of mechanical hamster. Supposed to be one of the hot toys for Christmas. They are already sold out and going for some astronomical price now for an $8 toy! That's just crazy.

Zhu Zhu Pets..... That was on Tierra's List... but I told her not now. I am not real sure why they are so popular, maybe the price? But of course she wants the whole Hampster "habitat" with all the tubes etc... My apartment is not big enough for all that!

We just saw them on Amazon for $85. They are already sold out here.

Hey my hubby got a job at Amazon.com. Shipping and receiving. They just opened a new warehouse in Las Vegas this October. He gets discounts and everything.

They have some great stuff and will have the best Black Friday sale.

Thanksgiving we were going to my moms in California and staying til Saturday but due to the Black Friday Sales he has to work mandatory overtime. So we will leave Thursday morning and come back Friday morning. Its only a 4-5 hour drive with my foot and hope the dont stop us.

Is anyone going out of town for Thanksgiving.

Awwwe, that's great! I know Lehi is real excited too....he's been dreaming of turkey & he won't have to cook a thing. We'll be doing a purely traditional meal this time...maybe next year we can throw in some Jamaican dishes but for now, it's turkey, stuffing, mashed taters & gravy, buns, cranberries & all that! I also told him he's NOT ALLOWED to put ketchup on the turkey!! I said, this time, he has to do it how we do....maybe another time I'll let him sully the turkey with ketchup!

I can't wait to see the pics of Lehi his smile is infectious! LOL he is like me all I can think about is that BIRD haaaa those dishes got me hungry again, the squash did nothing for me LOL. We are doing the traditional meal but we always have rice and peas, goat and fried fish too. I am sooooo excited Haaaaaa Damian loves ketchup on everything too we will have to see if he drenches the BIRD
