Hey C; unless things changed from July last year, I didn't need a SS# when we got our marriage license. My husband wasn't even with me when I applied...I gave them his passport. He still didn't have his SS# when we got married which was a week after I got the marriage license...it's easy up on my side...link me if when u get a chance...i drap a sleep at 7:30 lastnight and didn't get a chance to call you...G will be here next week........it's party time

Did they make a special exception for you? I know the rules vary by state, but I thought both people have to be present to swear in & sign the papers.

Nope; he wasn't with me when I applied for the license...I had to be sworn to the information I provided in the documents and the IDs that I provided. The only time he signed was the day of the ceremony when we got the certificates all certified I asked for 3 of them.

So the day of the ceremony, you got 3 certified copies?

Yes, but it really depends on what state you live in. I've seen people say they couldn't get it the same day, it was mailed or they had to go back and pick it up. All of my certificates had the golden seal on it.

That's nice it's not too far from you...at least within a 1/2 day's drive! Southern Cal is as bad as SF when it comes to housing prices! I bet there's no place else she'd rather be though, right? That's how I am with SF...both hubby & I love it here....we just may not be able to afford to live here forever.

When that trip happens, I'll definitely let you know. I didn't get to reply the other day to everyone but I liked seeing the pics of the Peppermill. I remember a very hungover morning there once! LOL! I'm not a gambler but it sure is fun doing everything else! My only unrealistic wish is that casinos would go smoke-free! YEAH RIGHT! I'm hoping we can get there after the spring semester is over....and if not, maybe we'll go around the same time my Aunt & Mom make their yearly pilgrimage together in the late summer.

Yes Ells she loves it there. Southern Cal is where I was born and I have been in Vegas for about 12 years now. I would love to move back but I cant afford it, until maybe I finish school.

Will do! Isn't it funny how it takes a visitor (or hubby) to get you to go places you've seen for years?? I'd never been to the IMAX theater here until hubby & I saw the 3D Christmas Carol on the weekend. There have been a few places that I've gone to here in SF only since hubby got here.

These stalker guys have some serious cajones! Mine has talked to hubby on more than one occasion & the last time, he slipped by cause he used a different 'voice' & when he got me on the line I was pretty unpleasant...it probably still won't stop him from calling again in another month. I'ma have hubby cuss him off next time!

LOL Ells you were right he tried to make me happy but girl did I get some side eye looks form the likkle stoosh playmates. Hey my hubby got a job at Amazon.com. Shipping and receiving. They just opened a new warehouse in Las Vegas this October. He gets discounts and everything.

They have some great stuff and will have the best Black Friday sale.

Thanksgiving we were going to my moms in California and staying til Saturday but due to the Black Friday Sales he has to work mandatory overtime. So we will leave Thursday morning and come back Friday morning. Its only a 4-5 hour drive with my foot

Is anyone going out of town for Thanksgiving.

Yes the Halle Berry is cute but she is older so he will probably try and hit and quit! LOL I forgot he was with Whitney, I would love to know the story behind that one!

Awww, that's great! I know Lehi is real excited too....he's been dreaming of turkey & he won't have to cook a thing. We'll be doing a purely traditional meal this time...maybe next year we can throw in some Jamaican dishes but for now, it's turkey, stuffing, mashed taters & gravy, buns, cranberries & all that! I also told him he's NOT ALLOWED to put ketchup on the turkey!! I said, this time, he has to do it how we do....maybe another time I'll let him sully the turkey with ketchup!
