So, Im doing a little project with my kindergarten class on Tuesday. I bought 9 x 9 felt cloths and I am going on line looking for coloring pages the kids can color. Showing pics of things they are thankful for. My daughter always says food! lol. Every story she ever wrote about me was thanking me for feeding her. She still does it to this day. I am going to have them glue them to the felt and Im sewing all the pictures together to make a "thanksgiving quilt". Im doing one with them to have a even number of squares. I hope they don't give me too much grief!

Thats whats up Mstee,

I going to school right now I have 24 credits left then I will get my B.S. I want to work with kids 3rd and 4th grade and in 2 years when we moved to Jamaica I want to teach there. My husbands has some school teacher friends that are looking out for me. So keep strong because as us that have kids know that they can be a handful but I know 20-30 are a damn mess lol

Thanks for the encouragement ladies and yes I will be sure to take pics of the finished product... I don't mind working with the children, its the adults that I have low tolerance for bs.

Do you have a web site for pictures you can download and color? I stumbled upon one once and can find it again for you, if you need.

Well I wouldn't trade my job for anything. I am a Training NCO for the Army National Guard. It is almost like active duty Army, but I don't have to move around every two to three years. The job itself is pretty simple. Helps if you know the computer and programs. All I do is put soldiers in for schools and put them on orders for the same dates as the school. I also create training schedules. My job is pretty much done well before lunch 12noon, then I am doing homework and on here.

SIDE BAR:

Eric picked up his medical today, the nurse said all is well. So I am thrilled about that.

And thanks to all the ladies that helped me pick a topic. I finally came up with African American's role in the civil war.

Morning Yardies!

Hey Nat- Your wedding is just around the corner!!! I'm so excited for you! Please post pictures..

I have a question- what is the fastest way to get the visa IN HAND after approved at the Embassy..? Have it delivered? Or go pick it up? I'm asking this because I don't want to leave JA until Dane has the visa in his hands! Is it like 3 days or so?

And not only that, the ticket prices are outrageous!! Dane has his Interview Dec.18th... so if approved, will he get his visa before Christmas?? Or maybe the Embassy will hold off everything til after Christmas... I don't know what to do..

I say go for the longest time you can stay down there. Why rush back to the cold. Plus you figure it might be a long time before either of you are go back.

I agree....that's one reason I was okay with staying 3 weeks....not only to wait for the visa (which came way faster than expected) but I knew it'd be a long time before we could afford to come back.

Nope. I was in a relationship, so when we chatted on my last night there (Nov 07) and he pulled out his phone, I was like, "No need." He was disappointed, as he claims he knew from the first time he saw me (when I paid him no attention cause I was on my laptop, so he thought I was stoosh) that I was the one. He says after that, he told God that if it was meant to be, I'd come back to his life.

Well, completely unrelated to him, I did go back in March. He found out that I was coming back through a friend who'd kept in touch with my sister. He figured that my coming back was a sign. By this trip, I was no longer in a relationship. We spent a lot more time together, chatting, dancing, playing games, etc. We did exchange contact info on this trip. I went back in July & we got closer. From July 2008 - now, maybe 2-3 days have gone by without us talking. August, I visited Jamaica during Gustav. That's when I got 100% sold on Steven. November 2008, he proposed. February, my parents/aunt went with me to visit him & his family. March, I surprised him with my visit. May, my cousin & I went to Jamaica & threw him a surprise birthday party. July, I went back to visit again. September, interview & he flew back with me!

Aww! Nice story! You two met the same time Lehi & I did. I went back to see him 'for real' in Feb & then also in July of that year. We were almost on the same schedule until you passed me up by about 100 trips!

HIIIIIIII YALLLLLLL!!!!! long time yuh nah ear from me eyyy??? hope all is well ladies... Dara sit down sumwhere puhleeze lmbo!!

quick update umm so i emailed the DS230 because we was holding out trying to pin point a schedule date near the end of Dec anyways i emailed it on Wednesday and they just sent me a email talking about the interview is scheduled for Dec 8th!!!! yes ladies i guess im suppose to be excited right??? but he is nowhere near ready medical, police report ect and neither am i preperations preperations ect... this just hit me like a ish load of bricks after all this waiting...

I wonder why when stuff is all good these things can't happen but when you need to just focus on yourself and yourself only for a little while these things just happen to spring up see dada this is why i was at the gym at 5 in the morn tryna free mi mind lol SMDH

Bigg upzzz yankeegirl,JG,Ellsinlove,Nat,Irie,Kimmy,Sha,Jaenlish and all the otherz i missed

Congrats Newly! Don't stress....everything will come together!

Good evening Yardies.... Gonna catch up....

Good things were accomplished today. We were able to apply for the SS# only took about 20 minutes.

We also got our marriage license which took even less time about 15 minutes. Why did I get a tad

nervous when we had to put our hand on the bible??? i think reality is finally setting in! Then we

went shopping for our eighties party. We got burgers and fries for lunch. Steve loved the fries. Today

was a good day!

I got your back on this one. I agree. He shouldn't be trying to ruin your first holiday together!

Thanks Mstee! There are plenty of other weekends he could come for him.

LMAO - I was a good Catholic school girl (good at not getting caught!)

 Reminds me of the year I attended a Christian school in 7th grade. I had to go back to regular school after that.

Ells I feel you on this...I still agree with you and think your feelings are valid. You already had plans. If Lehi is okay with it, then thats it. He can always see dad another day. Lehi is goin to have to be the one to build the relationship with dad, and you just have to support his decisions. It's about you and him.

Thanks again! It's funny...the topic was bothering him yesterday too. He spoke to his tutor & a friend & both were in agreement that his Dad was not right. His tutor said she didn't really know her father either so she knew how he felt....she also said to him, "he put you last, you can put him last too!"

Catchin up late but just wanted yall to know that Ryon picked up his paperwork from the medical.......so now im just waiting on the interview!

Congrats Hayms!

Why do people smoke cigarettes in cars with all the windows rolled up. I couldn't help but stare at this lady on my way to work. I would hate to ride in that car. Yuck! I wanted to blow my horn so bad and ask What the hell her problem was, but then I realized it's only a problem for me. :)

LOL! That would probably bug me too though....I've seen that with CHILDREN in the car! That's when I really get mad....if you wanna kill yourself with that hotbox, that's fine, but leave the kids out of it!!

I bet she stinks like crazy too. There's this Asian man who must smoke like a chimney who gets on my bus in the mornings because when he boards, the WHOLE bus reeks of cigarette smoke after that. I always have to open a window to get some airflow when he gets on....for a few years now whenever he gets on I sing to myself (in my head), "stinky, Asian man" to the tune of 'Secret Agent Man'!

Not much in the way of exciting weekend plans here. Tonight might twist up hubby's hair (since I don't think I'll ever learn to do cornrows) & maybe a sexy party. Tomorrow not sure what's on the agenda either....probably cooking up some JA food for a potluck going-away party on Sunday for my drum teacher. Going to drum class in the late morning & then to the party after. He's going back to Africa & we aren't sure if it's for good this time. There's a strong possibility of that. :crying::crying:

Okay, yardies, how did you pick a major? Were any of you really lost/ uncertain/ bouncing around before you went for your secondary degree? I've gone to the websites, tried to take the 'what should you major in' quizzes (then they want you to register for the results & I close the page), & done a lot of web browsing but I'm not getting any good resources & really can't even figure out where to begin. I'm not even sure what I want to do as a career....I just know that it's NOT this! What I want to do is a dream job that every one else wants as a dream job....something that would involve travel & I have a big interest in photography but don't know if that's worth trying to find a major that would suit that. I'd love to have a job where I'm not sitting at a desk all day like I am now....but also something where I don't really have to deal heavily with a lot of people every day. I really have no place in customer service oriented jobs....I can do it but I'm not a people person that way. On a social level it's all good but when it comes to dealing with people lacking common sense, which I've encountered in most customer service type jobs, I have no patience. :bonk:

Ells--I have switched my major about three times now. So I don't know when I will be gettng my degree. Hell, when I first started right after high school, I was into dental, then I went to Iraq and came back. It switched to computers then. But I have to be in class for computers, because i have to see and put my hands on it and ask tons of questions to comprehend. So now I am putting my hand in military program contracting and acquistions. I really don't have a desire for it. But I know in the long haul, I will have a job when I am done with the National Guard. Think about something that is going to be around for a while, when you are trying to decide. That is what helped me. I know the military is not going anywhere. (Hope that Helps some)
