Wow! I was away for about 1.5 days and caught up in 10 minutes.

I want to live my next life backwards:

Start out dead and get that out of the way.

Then, wake up in a nursing home feeling better every day.

Get kicked out for being too healthy.

Enjoy retirement and collect a pension.

When starting work, get a gold watch on the first day

Work 40 years until too young to work.

Get ready for High School: drink alcohol, party, and be generally promiscuous.

Go to primary school, become a kid, play, and have no responsibilities.

Then become a baby, and finally...

Spend the last 9 months floating peacefully in luxury

In Spa-like conditions - central heating, room service on tap, and then...

Finish off as an orgasm.

I rest my case.

what do you all serve at Thanksgiving? I don't think Hubby is going to like Turkey so I was just wondering what will be on your menu's

That's on the menu for our reception.

This will be my first Thanksgiving in 3 years in America instead of Jamaica. :crying:

So I don't think anyone answered this yesterday. The gift exchang is where you get a Yardies name and you buy them a gift and send it to them. I forget what the price limit was last year, maybe $10? You would get who you had through PM as well as their address. It was a lot of fun.

Cool I think we should do it.....so whose the planner....I can see Nat doing it!

I was just thinking about this the other day... I think we are going to have an array of foods...

Spanikopita

Stuffed sqaush

I am going to try a cheese souffle

An Escovitch fish for the fish eaters...

Mango & Sticky rice

Mac & Cheese

and a Vegetarian meatloaf...

I am having my girl take a Caribbean Grocery run on her way up from DC!

The Mango and Sticky rice sounds interesting Cat....would love to try it!

Things are going well thanks, let me know about DC to... We may slide through!

oh and for any of the oldies.. child support court was yesterday.. got my money.. lost sole custody, even w/ all the evidence the judge overturned the prior judge decision and made us have joint custody and basically told me i can appeal it if i don't like it..

i told him how irrational the ex is and he doesn't make decisions based on the childrens well being, but trying to hurt me. i told him my ex hubby tried to run me off the road while my kids were in the car and he said "did u go off the road"

among other things that i won't mention cuz its too badmind and im trying to be positive and not think about how that judge made me feel yesterday.. i just hope i don't have to go back to court cuz knowing my ex.. he is not too happy bout the outcome of how much he have to pay..

Sorry about the Judge not seing ur side on the custody but at least u get the money which is a plus

Jamaicans to pay more for passports

Published: Tuesday | November 10, 2009

Courtney Castello, Gleaner Intern

JAMAICANS will have to dig deeper - much deeper - into their pockets to pay for passports come next Monday. The Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA) has announced increases of between 80 and 380 per cent in the cost of passports with the new fees to take effect on November 16.

The changes will see the price of an adult passport increasing by 80 per cent, from $2,500 to $4,500.

The price of a passport for a child will also go up by 80 per cent, from $1,500 to $2,700.

The most painful increase will be felt by those who lose or have their passports stolen. The price to replace an adult passport which has been stolen or lost will increase from $2,500 to $9,500. This represents a 380 per cent increase.

Increase necessary

Persons will have to fork out $5,700 to replace a child's passport which has been stolen or lost. This jumps from $1,500.

In confirming the price increases yesterday, Angella Hamilton, communications officer at PICA, said that the price of passports was last increased in 2001.

PICA is one of a number of state agencies slated to be taken off the Government's budget for the next fiscal year.

These agencies have been mandated by Prime Minister Bruce Golding to ensure that their charges cover their expenditure.

In January, Major Richard Reese, permanent secretary in the Ministry of National Security, announced increases in the fees for several services offered by PICA but declared that there was no plan to increase passport fees at that time.

"The proposal is not to increase the passport fee. The proposal is to increase all the other fees," Reese told the Public Administration and Appropriations Committee of Parliament.

According to Reese, the revised fees would address the shortfall in revenue arising from the reduction in the sale of passports at the time.

Wow....dats a big hike for a lost or stolen passport......I agree with u Bunz

:ot: Bunz how come u nuh add mi as yuh friend pon facebook yet?
