you will make it Dens Wifey....just stay positive.

Thanks Dillon. I'm trying...seems like me and my SO have been butting heads lately and he so stubborn!

Have you tried emailing the ds230 like the others on here are doing? Don't wait for packet 3 because 9X out of 10 it doesn't show up.

That's the game plan. I'm waiting on my boo to send me the signed form and I planned to e-mail it to the Embassy. I'm definitely ready for an interview date because I want him here by New Year's...right now our wedding is planned for February 14, 2010!

Well, my bubble just burst. Maddie failed her test and is not available for adoption. I'm heartbroken. First of all, they left her in that cage for the last 4 months for no reason if she isn't adoptable. 2nd, they are going to put her down now....I know that. I fell in love with that dog. I started to tear up when the gal called.

A friend of mine just talked me down off that ledge and said leave work early and go find yourself a dog. He said I've been so happy all weekend in anticipation and had my heart set on Maddie. He said I won't be happy if I don't. This is the one person who knows me best and he's right. So, I am leaving at 2 to see if I bond with another. I'll be happy and I'll have saved a dog from who knows what.

They had a special running the last few weeks in Oct. 1/2 price for the adoption fees. They offered it to me with Maddie cause I couldn't take her home in Oct. I'm going to see if they will extend it till today in light of the circumstances. Wish me luck.

I know how you feel JG. I went to adopt a cat last year and I wanted an orange and white one (kitten). They didn't have any kitten but there was Andy.. he was one years old. I got half way home with him and had to turn around and give him back because the family changed their mind. He sensed he was leaving because as we were driving back, he ran under the car seat and wouldn't come out... It was heart wrenching for me and my daughter and we cried all the way back.. Then we got a big ol adult lap cat, she was pretty but we were sooooooooo upset we didn't even name her. I gave her away to a friend when I moved....

Explain the foil comment please.

What exactly are they doing/asking at this workshop. You said it was brutal. Why you say that?

Chipotle had a thing where if you wore foil from 6pm to closing on Oct 31, you got a free burrito. I saw it on someone's Facebook status & wasn't even sure it was true. But when we got there, lots of others were wearing foil, too.

Without going into too much personal detail, Steven & I made the mistake of answering the questions ("Raise your hand if you ___") and were on the receiving end of a bit of judgment a few times. For example, they asked who (out of 30 or so there) drinks. Why was I the ONLY person to raise my hand??? Knowing good & well that I was not the only person there who drinks. The presenter made a comment about how people say the only have one drink, but one turns into 4 or 5. In my mind, I was like, "Or, one stays at one!"

It reminded me of when we had these two new hires who are Muslim. They'd never go to Happy Hours with other new hires cause people drank at them. They seemed to equate drinking with being drunk. That was the same attitude I detected from a couple of people at the workshop. It's like some people don't get that there are several levels between having one or two drinks and being drunk; the two are not equivalent.

We know for the next 3 sessions to lay low, like a few of the couples already knew to do on Saturday.

That's excellent. I added about $700 more next year to my healthcare flexible spending account anticipating lots of dental work.

That's why I wanted him to go before I make my pre-tax flex spending care commitment for next year. I thought for sure he'd need loads of dental work done, and planned to add a lot. But now I know not to.
