I just called the wedding salon where I live to find out some info. Its looking like Jan 30th for our wedding date...

Yup sure am, we are still planning unsure if we are doing it in Kingston or country but I want both of our family's to attend so maybe somewhere in the middle LOL.When we go down in for the Holiday we are scouting our locations. Last time we were married in the Blue Mountains near our Pastor's and it was beautiful of course but rushed so this time I want it perfect!

I know I haven't posted much lately so let me tell you what is going on in my world.

Things have been going pretty good at home with everyone getting along. Every now and then someones feelings get hurt because they aren't getting enough attention but it is a quick fix.

My step-son has been having problems adjusting to school and his school work. He is very far behind in his reading, writing and math skills which came to a shock to me. He is in 4th grade but reading at a 2nd grade level. The school he is in now tested his hearing and come to find out he has some hearing loss and is having problems hearing. He has said that it has been going on for at least a year and the loss is in both ears. His mother thought that there was nothing seriously wrong since he stopped complaining about it. So we have a long road ahead of us with getting him caught up. He is getting extra help in school and we work with him as much as we can at home and he has a great attitude towards learning.

I was just shocked that his school doesn't do hearing tests like they do here...maybe some of the hearing loss could have been prevented if they did.

Glad you caught this & I pray they can stop the hearing loss with him.

I had to break it down for Ray last week. He doesn't understand who people in Jamaica drop out of high school and still can't read and americans drop out of high school and can read and spell just about every word.

how the heck do you even make it to high school and can't read? yuh shouldn't even pass 2nd grade...

Happens all the time though! How can you be in the 9th grade & not read??? That happened to my hubby before he dropped out to get a job to support his child.

I am too far behind to catch up, work has got me so busy and with all the changes around here I definitely need to act the part! I went to NYC for a training on Tuesday at the Sprint Training facility and it was very impressive. I am working on a presentation for our customers now and have to learn a bunch of new offerings before 4th quarter ends.

Hubby drove up with me and he loves NYC while I was in training he roamed Midtown and had a blast he can't wait to go back with me next week. He didn't want to take pics in Time Square because he didn't want to look like a tourist as he thought he looked like a New Yorker and fit right in LOL. Yall know I was taking pics everywhere haaa cause that's me but he did take a pic with Usain Bolt's cardboard likeness which was too funny I'll post on FB LOL

I am glad to say that it looks like the boys have finally accepted that Damian is here to stay and he is in fact their Stepfather and my Husband. My boys are actually talking to us LOL and starting to act like a real family again. All I can say is praise God because it has been hell for me this year and I just pray that the good vibes continue and we can continue on as a fully meshed family going forward. I know it won't be easy and we all play a part and have to work together but I have faith in US.

Hubby and I are planning a 2 day Halloween party at home with the boys with scary movies, treats and I'm dressing up the cats ( Hush I know I'm crazy). Everyone is excited and so am I to finally have some normalcy back at home

Well I am getting the new kitty she is all black and long hair from Mrs Bootsy tomorrow her name is Fudgums ( don't laugh LOL) . I also want to take one of the brothers from the litter but I don't want Hancock the Dagger Master to freak out as they do when they are no longer the alpha male but we shall see ( plus Hubby says no more PUS inna deh house but he is allowing the female) . I cannot resist an all black cat and he is so cute I named him Darkness I want him so bad!

Do you think it's worth it to do Justice of the Peace before the end of the year to get the extra $$, then still have your wedding on Jan 30?

I thought that in order to do that, the person has to live with you 6 months or more before you can claim them as a dependent?

I think as longs as you are married before 12/31 you are considered married all year

Yes MsTee I just check the IRS website. Whatever your status is on 12/31/09 that is how you file.

I did it Mstee. We got married on New Year's Eve and I claimed hubby. It helped me.

UPDATE: ..just spoke with my fiance' ..looks like island you were right .. he said the embassy called him today and said that everything is fine and he will get the visa but they need the medical before he can get it..he said the only avail appt they had for him to go turn it is on Nov 24th !! so now we just have to wait for that ..i was kind of expecting this so i'm not surprised ..just glad everything worked out !
