Hey Rhiann...

Where'd you get those numbers? This is something i have been crazy curious about forever. Think about it -- if they process ONLY 711 K1 visas last year -- that is nothing -- that means that the CR1/IR1 count must be less.

Anyway... just wondering where you got your info?

Canada only processed 711 K-1 visas last year.

5000 in the Philippines.

Why cant we have their system?

USCIS

NOA #2: Approval June 25th, 2009 - 92 days

NVC

July 8, 2009 to August 10, 2009 - 28 days

Interview Assigned - December 3, 2009 - FINALLY!!

Medical - December 14, 2009 - Passed

Embassy/Interview - January 26, 2010 Montreal, Quebec Canada - 167 days PASSED!!!

Port of Entry - February 26, 2010 Baltimore International, Maryland

USCIS -- ROC package sent off

November 26, 2011 to Vermont station November 30, 2011 received NOA1December 16, 2011 received biometrics appointment.

January 04, 2012 Biometrics

September 2, 2012, RFE Received.

September 22, 2012 RFE responded to

October 15, 2012 ROC approved, 10 Green card on its way.

Varba??? Did they really tell you to stop calling every day?

Did you tell whomever you spoke to to effen shut up and that you'll call whenever you darn well feel like it?

Well... I called today too and when I started asking questions, the guy said, sorry I have to do this and started reading me the 'script'... I stopped him and I said, "I could recite that to yo u -- I don't need to hear it again, thanks for you help, have a good day -- I'll call back next week."

T'was nice.

:)

That would have been my call to them Tuesday.

It was a wham-bam-thankyou-maam call of:

1) Yes, there is no interview and never was.

2) Further delays at Montreal, don't expect one till next year.

3) Stop calling every day.

I gotta admit, I cried.

But if you tell anyone..

Kinda crazy when you see that they only issued 20 TN visas in 2008 total. Thought it was more popular than that.

What about adding a few suggestions into possible solutions for the problem into the letter. Somthing such as allowing people waiting for K1 visa the option to interveiw in Vancouver. This could be sent out in the packet 3 info. I am fairly certain that a lot of people would glady head to Vancouver if that meant a faster interview. I know it would slow Van up a little, but at least the 2 consulates would be a little more even in the timelines. And moving K1 Visa to Van would free up interview space for the CR1's. I am sure there would be other small things like this that would be relatively easy to initiate and help!

I don't think I would be comfortable suggesting possible solutions such as transferring cases. I don't know the inner workings and I'm sure the logistics are complicated (this is the government) and it would take a while to implement and cost a lot of money which in the end would just end up costing us more.

The purpose of our letter was to inform him of our situation and how we feel we are being treated. We also asked him for help, whatever he can do to speed up our case.

12/31/2009 - Marriage

07/21/2010 - AOS approved

08/04/2010 - Green Card received (and it's actually green!)

05/30/2012 - Sent ROC packet to VSC

06/08/2012 - Received NOA1 for ROC (Dated 06/04/2012)

Not sure if our CR1 is listed on there -- there is a C1 but I'm not sure if that's the same thing. I would LOVE to know the numbers. Because if there were only 711 KIs, the number for CR1s must be about half that, I would say? AS the majority of visas like this are the fiance ones. Nice.

I was once where you are and hope you never ever go where I went.

07/22/2009 - Recieved request for DS-221 and notarized letter of intent

07/31/2009 - Montreal recieves thier final requested doc.

09/01/2009 - Visa approved and mail out today

Upon looking at that link it became clear to me that Canada only did 5,909 TOTAL non-immigrant visas...The phillipines did 194,286...thats rediculous, especially as they only have one consulate to go through! I imagine out numbers of people looking to leave are lower but seeing that and knowing how big the backlog is...yeesh. Apparently they also only did 2,312 total immigrant visa's last year. That a whopping 8221 total visa's over a year with anywhere from 3-6 month waiting times. Gross.
