Hello everybody,

My parents-in-laws applied for a family first preference F1 visa type for my wife a while back. We just recently got married and I also applied for IR1/CR1 visa in August 27. My case approved and sent to NVC on Septemper 24. While a I am waiting for DS 3032 and AOS Fee Bill Invoice for my case, my in-laws also received DS 3032 and AOS Fee Bill Invoice for their case. I already paid the $70 AOS fee and sent in the DS 3032 for both cases. Now both cases are at NVC. Our thingking right now is keep on applying and pay IV fees for both cases see which one might get process faster. Does anyone know what case might get process faster and get approve easier? I have read that there alot of blue slip for spouse visa and more paper works are required. I am thinking about delaying my case and persuing her parent case.

Any thoughts and inputs are appreciated.

Your wife's case no longer qualifies in the F1 family preference category. That category is for a USC to petition for an unmarried child. Your wife is no longer unmarried. The NVC is probably unaware that your wife no longer qualifies because your in-laws did not inform them that she got married. The petition by your in-laws for your wife is now an F3 case; USC petitioning for a married child. That will take at least another two years. You are better off pursuing the petition you filed for her and have your in-laws inform the NVC that their child is now married.
