I'm from the UK and married to a US citizen and am currently filing for adjustment of status.

I originally came over with my wife on VWP last December but ended up staying due to custody problems with my wife's daughter, and have now decided to stay. Will this overstay cause me any problems?

How much should I be paying for my medical (I am in Ohio) and does this include the TB skin test, Syphilis and HIV tests?

I think I have had all of the required jabs and have had my medical records from the UK faxed over.

If they tell me I need any more jabs, can I get them done at my local medical centre to save money? Is it possible to get the TB skin test, Syphilis and HIV tests done elsewhere to save money?

Finally, can anyone recommend a good place in central Ohio to get my medical?

Thanks

Hi the best thing you can do is check out the list of civil surgeons at the uscis website and phone around and check what price they will charge and exactly what is included for that price.... I had to have some extra shots done and my civil surgeon recomended the local health clinic as it would be much cheaper that having her do them....

Good luck

Hi there, I am from Cleveland and my fiance came on a K1 visa. It only cost us $25 but he had already had his exam and vaccines done when he came here so it may be a bit more for you. It is a very easy process though and you should have no problems just contact one of the civil surgeons on the USCIS website and you will be fine. We went to a place called MEDGroup but thats up here in Cleveland. Good luck to you!

I called around and found a place charging $185 in Columbus, Ohio. This included the TB skin test and bloodwork but not any required vaccinations.

I took along my vaccination records and was told I had all the required vaccinations (MMR, Varicella/Chicken Pox, Pertussis Td, Tetanus, Polio).

They then took some blood, gave me the TB skin test and told me to return in two days.

I was surprised that I was not asked to undress or examined!!!

The blood tests came back negative and the TB skin test was negative too. After a short wait I was given my sealed brown envelope and a photocopy of the completed I-693.

So far so good!
