>>>>this really got me ANGRY!!!...a notice was left in their P.O box?? what does this mean.....now I have to wait to get my package back after 15 days?? More delays ARGGGGG!!!

I called USPS and FINALLY got through to someone that was breathing...according to them, there is no redelivery to P.O. boxes, all they said is they can send another slip in the P.O. box........from what I understand, the woman said that the postal carrier for that route will take the slip, find the packet and redeliver..im confused and I was a bit miffed so I couldnt really listen..... Has this happened to anyone here or anyone heard of situations like this??

This hasn't happened to me, but I can sympathize. I hate relying on USPS, Fedex or the Brown team. I know they're good people, but I just feel helpless when my stuff is in their hands. SO you have my support on this! I hope everything gets figured out.

DO NOT ask for return receipt and you won't have any problems. If there is noone there to sign they don't deliver it.

The best way is US Express mail and WAIVE the signature.

You can track and can you can get notice of delivery.

It means you should use delivery comfirmation, NOT certified mail return receipt required. YOU insisted (and paid for) the "benefit" of getting a signature of someone, anyone, which cannot possibly make any difference in your case. It does not matter if Suzie Sunshine or Rusty Bottoms signs for your packet. Had you requested "delivery confirmation" your packet would be there and they would be working on it. Now they have to send someone to go to the post office counter and sign your return card.

DO NOT use certified/return receipt if you are not willing to accept the delays it causes. Use delivery confirmation.

This is not the fault of the USPS nor the holiday.

The good news is that you are FAR from the only one who has done the same. USCIS sends folks to retrieve such mail and to stamp the cards. I recall (so long ago, now!) that when I got my certified-receipt card back, it had been name- & date-stamped by someone at the CSC, and I believe that other VJ filers of around the same time mentioned the same thing. The "delay" was by only a couple of days or so. You are one of dozens, perhaps hundreds, of such filers whose packages arrived the same day via the same method, so avoid beating yourself up.

Even better news is that, once they return the certified receipt, you will have your, uh, green card, si man! :)

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I don't trust USPS one bit.

A year ago Leo sent me copies of his paystubs and an invitional/sponsorship letter to backup my application for a tourist visa.

First time we sent it via USPS, it got lost. Second time we sent it registered, it got lost and they gave an incorrect tracking number. After copying everything a third time and sending it to me via DHL, it finally reached me. Spent a total of 100 USD over in fees to send it 3 times. His other 2 letters with USPS got scattered with the winds and someone else probably has his paystubs cause it was never returned to him.

N-400 Stuff:
07/02/16 : N-400 sent

07/11/16 : NOA1

07/28/16 : Biometrics

04/03/17: Interview (approved)

04/14/17: Judicial oath ceremony
