I know that this will most likely not be the case, but the lady I talked to at NVC today said that it can take up to 90 days in order for the NVC to receive the I-129F approval from USCIS.

"Um, it might take 90 days for the mail to get it there?"

"Yes. You can call back at that time if we haven't received it yet."

Seriously??!

Now, doing a quick search on these forums didn't come up with much of anything, so I'm assuming that it will *not* take 90 days for my petition to get there. I got a little smart with her at the end, asking her what would happen if it took 90 days and then I was put into AP for a month and then my petition would be expired...

It's been just a week, so I'll have more of cause to worry a month from now, I guess, and should just call every day from now until then. It seems like most people get into NVC pretty quickly, even if not everyone gets out as quickly.

Absolutely not! It can take about a week to 10 days, to get from VSC to NVC. I would call back and talk to someone else. I wouldn't think it would be longer than the end of this week.

Yeah, we had the same experience. When I called back the next day and talked to another person, the file had already been sent to the consulate. Depends on who you talk to to I guess. Good luck...you are almost there!

My approval was supposedly forwarded to the NVC on October 5, 2009 and they still have not received it. I called the NVC today and the lady said my case number is not on file and it can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks for the NVC to receive my case. :huh2:

It took NVC 2 weeks to get our file - That's the problem with batch processing - they hold petitions until there's enough to send, then they send them - then they get put in, and then you probably have to wait for the batch upload to the database or whatever. Lots of possible hangups and delays, and if they all come around at once, it can be a while.
