confused about what to send when

I have officially started the K1 process which is exciting. I have been reading through this forum and the K1 guide but am confused about which forms need to be sent when. I understand I send the petition I-129F now, along with Biographical Info forms for both of us. But there is also the financial support form, as well as 2 other forms listed as necessary on this site and I am really unsure of when those should be completed and mailed. Basically, which forms do I send together now (I'm the U.S. citizen), and which forms are completed later when the petition has been received and approved and my fiancee goes for his interview? I know a couple that sent many forms now, including the financial form. Help please!!

You can hold off on the I-134 form until the interview (most folks do). I included mine with the I-129F petition, then provided a "refresher" page when the fiancee's interview time approached.

For now, just follow the guide on how to file for a K1 visa. Once the petition is approved it will get sent to the NVC for a case # and the forwarded to the US embassy. The embassy will then ask the beneficiary for the additional paperwork, including the I-134 and financial evidence.

When we received our approval notice, and a list of forms they requested, the I-134 was not one of the forms on their list. However, they did request for DS-156K which does request the form. When being interviewed the officer may or may not request the I-134 form.

The proof of financial support, in the UK at least, is required at the interview stage... It's just a good idea to have it ready before you get that far. I'm wishing we'd done it a month ago at the moment. There is, however, no reason why you can't send them more information than they need. It's better than not enough. Just make sure you have copies of EVERYTHING you send.
