My wife and I met and got engaged while we were living in South Korea (I'm a citizen of the USA and she's Korean). We decided to get married in the USA then were planning on moving back to Korea. We're currently legally married in the USA. I received a promotion and we've now decided to stay in the States. I really need some help regarding the next steps for her to stay here legally as my wife - currently she's on a 6 month tourist visa. We're not too worried about her being allowed to work, for ahile, however I really don't want her to have to leave.

My biggest question: Is the logical next step to fill out the I-130 form to begin the K3 process? Or, is there some kind of "Change of Status" option available to us?

Any suggestions/advice/help is much appreciated!

Thank you so much for your help!

Just a couple more questions: What is the lockbox? What is the I-485?

The lockbox is an address you send the I-485 to (and the I-130 since you are concurrently filing it). The address is located in the I-485 instructions. The I-485 is the adjustment of status application.

Best to start by studying the Adjustment of Status Guide here at Visa Journey to put the process in context for you.
