Dear VJ Members,

Hi Everyone!

I hope you can give enlightment to our situation at the moment..

I work in Dubai (UAE) for 2 years and left work and Dubai for good last April 2009 and went home (phil.) to prepare all the requirements we will be needing for the K1 Pettion of my fiance and we successfully filed it last July 2009.

Before leaving, I had a valid Police Clearance which state that I'm clear and no criminal record or act during my 2 years stay. Unfortunately, UAE police clearance has 3 months validity which obviously expired after couple of months I left Dubai last April.

We are now taking steps to get a new UAE Police Clearance online, getting all the requirements they need to release another valid clearance and hoping that I will get my interview before the expiration of the 2nd Police clearance I may get from Dubai.

My question is ---- worst scenario I might need to pass all the K1 requirements in USEM in Manila before I can get my 2nd valid Police clearance, will they consider accepting my expired UAE Police Clearance knowing that I didn't travel to Dubai after I left in April which means I'm clear during my whole stay..?

Your comments will contribute a lot.

Thanks and More Power VJ!

I am pretty certain your police clearance is considered valid for one year from the date of issue by the Embassy for immigration purposes. Maybe someone else can verify this, also.

I have the same issue. I was in Dubai from 2003-2008. I requested PCC last June 2009 and I haven't been back there. My PCC is also expired but I still sent it to NVC with notarized explanation letter and I also attached my old passport where UAE visa was stamped and showing my last arrival and departure in UAE, I just hope they will consider it. Since you're doing K1, you have a chance to explain your situation to the consul. Some say PCC is valid for 1 year, I really hope it is.

US Embassy and Consulate Discussion

You are almost there and now you have to deal with the embassy. This is the place to post your experiences or questions related to this last step before moving to the US. Topics relating to I-134's, packets sent from consulate and medical & police certificates should be posted here.

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

Consulates generally accept a police certificate for 1 year from issuance regardless of any valdity marked on the document itself. If your interview is before April of this year, you will be fine. If not, you need a new one.
