Hey guys! Congrats on all the approvals and packets received!

I just bought Marcos and his mom their tickets for the 13th of April. His mom had her interview yesterday for a tourist visa and was approved. We are happy she was because now she can attend our wedding. The funny thing is that I purchased one roundtrip and the other one-way, and when I looked at the tickets, Marcos got economy seating and his mom got business class. OMG! I didnt want it that way, but if my future mom-in-law will be comfortable, the better! I got them direct flights because his mom speaks no english, and I wouldnt like her to get lost with a connecting flight.

Good luck on all the upcoming interviews!

Hello :) I need your help again - sorry for being such a silly goose:) Form I-134 , question 11 mark- intend or not intend? if intend what u indicate for contribution?? Thank u :)

We left it blank and put "N/A ( K1 visa process for permanent residence )" in the blank line section. There is a great example of this form on VJ and it can be found here: Example I-134 form

:)

Hi everyone. How are things going for the rest of the Octoberians? My fiance finally received her visa earlier this week (they took a week and a half to get it mailed!). She's flying here on April 7th. Nerve-wracking process this was!

Good news is I just passed the Foreign Service exam, so perhaps I'll be experiencing all of this from the other side one day soon! Having gone through it myself, it will certainly leave a sense of humility with me if I get hired. :-)

Thanks so much! Gotta say I'm a bit nervous... but we did a practice interview, we made sure we had all the documents, we triple-checked everything - ON TO VICTORY!

(we're still going to be a bit delayed by extra documents needed after the medical, unfortunately, but I'll be happier once we have the interview out of the way!)

We passed the interview! Still need to wait for the medical stuff to clear and get sent to the embassy, but other than that we should be ok.

Incidentally, the courier does NOT accept cash - only cards. This is contrary to the official information they send. My fiance had to give someone cash and have them use their card.

My fiancee just scheduled her interview with the Embassy at Tokyo for May 10, after they emailed her that they received DS-230 paperwork!

She was more terrified of getting all her fingerprints taken the other day at the central police station. She said it felt so serious and business like.

Found some good flight deals already if I book a month ahead and avoid travel during their Golden Week national holiday ( first part of May ). From what I've read the embassy is one of the easiest to pass.

Due to the weather in Rio (96 dead from the rains and flooding so far), SDU is shut down, and it sounds like GIG might be going that way. L tried calling the consulate to find out what the deal was, during their business hours (after his airfare was shut down) and they said they were CLOSED, and his medical was closed, and everything. Fortunately, I was able to get it worked out that I can rebook the rest of my flight, but I'm presently stuck in Miami, bagless, and L's interview is probably gonna be cancelled by the consulate.

I am so ###### bummed right now.
