I am praying my fiance' gets his packet 3 from Montreal today. They have had our materials since Jan. 22 and that is 20 days. I just want to get onto waiting for an interview date and that can't happen until materials are mailed back to Montreal. ARGH!

AFAIK, you have four months from consular receipt to complete packet 3 (though it might be 4 months from getting packet 3).

Is Lithuania a country that will automatically deny your petition without the sponsor, or one of the ones that will say "send us a co-sponsor and your visa will be approved"?

so we still have time to figurate it out! thank u! i dont know what country really Lithuania is.. not much people goes through this consulate, i wrote for people personal msg who got their k1 visa recently here but they didnt write anything back.. what i hear was about k3 visas and it was pretty easy and no any problems.. can i call embassy and ask them about possibility to send co-sponsor later?

John's Packet 3 letter arrived today!!! He had the packet downloaded and filled out previously, so literally all he had to do was print, date and sign it, and he had it faxed back to them within 10 minutes! w00t!!! The Vancouver consulate is closed for the Olympics (2 weeks), but we are in the hopes that he MIGHT get his interview date assigned before their closing time tomorrow. Fingers crossed!!

Hooray! I hope John gets his interview date set. Too bad the Olympics came to Vancouver this year!

I was hoping my fiance' would have his in his mailbox today (it has been in Montreal 21 days now...) but no such luck. But he is coming to visit for the long weekend (Yeah for Family Day in Ontario) so it is some consulation. BUT I WANT HIS PACKET 3 TO ARRIVE SO WE CAN SEND BACK ALL THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS AND GET IN LINE FOR A MONTREAL INTERVIEW! I WANT TO GET MARRIED! Ok, end vent.

We have yet to receive packet 3 from the consulate in Tirana. My fiance is an Albanian citizen currently living in Italy and wants to interview at the consulate in Naples. Are changes in consulate allowed at this point? I emailed the Naples office and have not had a response yet. He's willing to fly back to Albania for the medical exam and interview, but it would save lots of money if he could stay in Italy.

Any thoughts?

You may want to ask in one of the regional forums about other people from Albania/Italy.

I found out that packet 3 was mailed from Montreal on Feb. 3 but as of last night it still wasn't in my fiance's mail box. I had called the DOS this morning and they were the ones who said it had been sent. Sent an email to Montreal to resend it but I am secretly hoping it will be in my fiance's mailbox when he gets home on Monday from visiting me for the weekend. We will be filling out all the forms so he can take them home with him and wait for the packet 3 checklist so he can mail the packet back. One step closer!

Alright, we got our police certificate! It took about two weeks. The words NO TRACE are written in giant letters, assumedly because of no criminal background. Frighteningly, it says he was looked up in the "National Police Computer."

And, for the record, National Police Computer says no. :)

Oh, BTW, since I know people were curious... as I mentioned, I ended up on the phone with NVC and RDJ the last two days, trying to figure out why RDJ didn't have the petition and NVC had confirmation my date had been sent and received. Anyway, when I was chatting with Rio, I was told the interview's still $131 for our date *and* the date we're trying to change to (in early April, the week immediately after Easter, so we can spend Easter together). But, as always ... who knows if that'll end up actually happening. They've been so quiet as to when they're going to roll out the increase ...

That does sound like an extraordinary amount of time. I'd recommend contacting the embassy to see if they've received it. It's possible it got lost in the mail or something. Hopefully it's something easily rectified! Good luck!
