if you send the payment through a check, they will write your receipt number. I sent a check with mine, so hopefully I will get my Receipt # when I check my check online.

Leenie, im thinking yours is in transit via USPS snail mail....I hope!!! ...... After all, I live in Cali and you live on the East coast ........Chicago Il right??

Im surprised you had to file at the Cali location...seems weird to me as Vermont is ALOT closer..... <typical gov't weirdness>...anyways, I grew up on the east coast in upstate NY, normally snail mail takes 3-5 days when I send stuff back there...

again ..welcome Krili, and lets ....gogogogogogogogogogogog

Yep, Chicago, and those are my thoughts exactly. Maybe tomorrow~ :luv:

Maybe it is silly question but what it is noa1? what is written in it? whats the point of it? :)

NOA1 = (i often call it NAO1 by mistake haha  ) anyways it means the First Notice of Action, [i-797, Notice of Action] it gives conformation that indeed the USCIS has your I-129F petition and has started its process, also it will give you your specific receipt number. You then can register at the USCIS website and watch your progress, its kinda like watching paint peel from a wall, but hey...at least its cool to see that you ARE in the system!!! It also tells you a little about processing time, if you have a address change and some other things....

For me it was satisfaction that I have an official document which proves Our process has started !!!!!

Hello!

We are new on this site and like you, we are Octoberians! Thanks you for starting this thread as it gives us all some measure of tangibility!

We mailed our petition on Oct. 6th via USPS to CVS since my fiancee is from Michigan, and received our NOA on October 19th. I am from the Philippines and just got back from visiting him this fall.

Am still trying to reconnoiter this site as am not too technologically savvy. Anyway, hope to hear from any of you; any news is good news...good luck and blessings to all of us!
