You are done with NVC. Now it is up to USCIS to handle things, and you should soon be getting your green card (no fee). It takes them a couple of weeks to get the job done, maybe more than that. Your SSN is issued by a separate department, Social Security Administration. You will need to fill out an application after you get your green card and it will come in about ten days. (No fee)

Welcome!

If you answered yes for Social Security card on DS-230 it should come in a couple of weeks and the green card in 2 or 3 weeks,,,

Then you need to adjust status in 21 months...

Regards,

I answered yes on DS-230 and still waiting, they said 6-8 weeks wait for SSN. Perm Resident Card arrived within 2 weeks.

Whoa There !!

Slow down a bit !!!

you should get your greencard within 10 to 45 days (unless there is a problem ) of the POE date. Yer POE date is 10/08/09 - it's not even been a week.

SSN - issuance depends on many things - but - I'm a fan of showing up 3 weeks after POE date, and applying. If there is any problem, any hassle, come back a week later.... Ya, Ya, maybe you checked the box on the DS-230 - but issuance of SSN solely from that form has been hit or miss the last 18 months.

Don't be so anxious, ya? MAYBE you've gotten over the time zone changes - For now, focus on the house and how to make it uniquely yours.

Have you asked your USC partner about the process to receive the green card? what does He say ???

Warmest Regards...

Usually, USC partner (United States Citizen) is a spouse, if you came in on a CR-1. Are you married to a US Citizen? (I had assumed YES ).
