Hello Everyone,

So my finace and I are gathering our paper work for interview and I have question on proof of relationship documents. I have used my nick name on my emails and on social networks...(which we are using as proof of on going relationship) I was wondering if it would create a problem for us on the interview day when they look at our papers and say the name doesn't match w/petitioner's name? even though that's what I provied when I filed our paperwork.

Thanks for your help!

Good Luck Everyone who is going through this:)

Try listing down nicknames and who they are attached to in each document. ie:

Nickname1: Petitioners full name

Nickname2: Beneficiary's full name

Then take screenshots of your inbox showing your nickname to prove it belongs to you (on the assumption of if it wasnt yours, you wouldnt have access to inbox), screenshots of your MSN/YAHOO/Skype whatever client showing your nickname and your fiance's nickname, like an open chat or something to link them together visually. It should not be a problem if you can link them to actual visual proof somehow. No one is expected to have their full name as their handle/nickname on the internet. Infact, to do so would be utterly stupid and begs for trouble.

If you have lots of pictures and telephone records they probably won't even look at your emails and chats.

I think it's a fair assumption that MOST VJ members have used nicknames that were not analagous

to either their first or full names at any point in time. I have done that in spades, while currently

we are using our names because we dropped anonymity very early in the relationship.

We might have some input from members that have already been through the interview stage

to see if non-corresponding nicknames posed a problem or not.

I tend to think they won't, because from the content of the chats should be enough

information to connect both parties in defining their relationship.

It would be conceivable that the petitioner or beneficiary had hacked into someone elses'

Yahoo, MSN or whatever account, but the content of the chats is what shows the relationship,

not necessarily the names of the parties. We talk in detail about ourselves, family & work

so we could use nicknames like "Mr. Mxyzptlk" and "Ms. Kltpzyxm" and that wouldn't

change the value of those chats.
