I think kobe beef as a burger is pointless unless it's rare. The point of kobe is the marbling and if you're eating a well done burger almost all the fat has been cooked off.

It's healthier fat. Most U.S. beef the fat is all on the outside, but according what I've read - the marble type fat is good cholesterol.

I'm going to do a lil more research on the kobe beef thing. I know they just sit around all day drinking beer and getting massages so the fat is massaged into the muscle.

We all sustain some level of risk on a daily basis. Having said that, I'll absorb the risk of consuming beef and lamb. Red meat is number 1 in my book!

A flame grilled porterhouse steak with sea salt, cracked blacked pepper and garlic is my order of the day.... on the other hand, some lamb Moussaka would be nice...

I've enjoyed my share of beef throughout my life, but one thing that gives me more pause about it now is the fact that it takes up so much feed and water. It's an incredibly wasteful and inefficient source of food...and there would be no way to feed the world all beef...there's simply not enough feed and water.

Not to be selfish, but I will eat what I can afford. That is reality. To balance the equation, my wife and I help her family, so they can eat beef and lamb also. Pork is not an option for us, so the pool has some limitations.

Speaking to beef and marbling, only USDA Prime and Choice are in the running with Kobe beef. Very few supermarkets offer Prime and Choice, because most of this product is gobbled up by premium restaurants.

I agree! I've been out of school now for some 36 years and knew then what I know now...educational institutions brainwash everyone. BTW, back then it was most acceptable to consume dead animal flesh.

I watched a cool documentary on corn, and it showed what happens to cows that are fed corn. Its horribly unhealthy for the cows and causes bleading ulcers. It does fatten them up quicker so that they can get to market, but it would eventually kill them if left alive to eat that way. The meat is much higher in fat, and all around not as good. Your typical McDonalds hamburger has very little lean in it. It probably comes from the worst cuts. (though, i must admit they can be tasty - just awful for you.)

I have raised cattle all my life and have yet to hear anything like a bleeding ulcer much less see an animial with it. Sounds like part of an anti meat effort by peta. The majority of animals are on a corn diet for 6-7 months with much of that in the form of silage . silage is chopped corn stalks with the grain fermented. Most of Mcdonalds beef is dairy steers and maybe cull cows.
