California: 'Stolen Valor' Arrest

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Published: October 9, 2009

A man who brought attention to homeless veterans has been arrested in San Diego on a federal charge of lying about being a decorated veteran, the F.B.I. said. A judge last week issued an arrest warrant for the man, Richard G. Strandlof, 32, after he was charged under the Stolen Valor Act, which makes it illegal to make false claims of having military decorations. Investigators say Mr. Strandlof claimed he was a Marine captain named Rick Duncan who earned a Purple Heart and Silver Star in Iraq.

How do you know this guy is a liberal? Or is it something you just assume?

Morover I was wondering what difference his political persuasion would make.

Yeah you're right. It only would've mattered if it were a "conservative"

You don't understand sarcasm i am guessing.

We know that conservatives don't engage in this kind of activity. They're busy drilling gloryholes into the walls of public restroom stalls.

Satisfied?

"Strandlof’s growing profile as a veterans advocate unraveled in May when he was unmasked as a convicted thief with an apparent history of psychiatric problems. The revelation embarrassed Democratic politicians he publicly supported during last year’s campaign cycle and spelled the end of the advocacy group Strandlof founded, the Colorado Veterans Alliance."

The assumed association is totally bogus though. There are obviously Democrats who are cheats, liars, adulterers the full gamut, but it's not a product of Democratic ideology any more than being a closet homosexual or whatever is a product of being a conservative. There is no causation so this whole line of thinking is ridiculous. He's a fraud and has been caught. Great.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

oughta make him serve in the military in iraq for his punishment.

A liberal's worst nightmare. Serving their country.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Some velour was stolen?

The velour sweatsuit has made a comeback. Some will stop at nothing to obtain the most stylish duds.

Wearing velour in public should be an offence punishable by death.

The same goes for bad puns that aren't funny.
