Hi everyone! :) It's been years since I've been in. Life in general has consumed my every spare minute, that is, when i'm not sleeping. Visa journey helped me every step of the way when processing my wife Cathy from the Philippines. We are still happily married and now have a 2 & 1/2 year old daughter. post-6557-1255306526_thumb.jpg :) Anyways, I guess I need to get on to the topic. Hopefully someone has had experience with this because I sure haven't. Cathy's older brother is an overseas worker from the Philippines. He works in Guatamala for a large construction company. He has a wife and two children in the Philippines. He really wants to spend his next vacation here visiting us. Cathy would sure like to see him also as we have not been able to visit the Philippines or her family since her coming here. I know that most of the filing and paperwork is pretty much on her brother Christopher, but I need to send him an Invitation letter. My question is.... can this be just a basic "hey, how ya doin', sure wish you could come for a visit" type letter? Or God forbid, is there a government form and 900 supporting documents and a large fee for this? Could someone direct me to a sample letter of some sort, or just give me pointers. I'm sure this may be a boring topic for most, but certainly it will be of use to me and many others in the future. Thanks in advance for any advice you have because I'm clueless on this one. ~ Brian

Just send him an invite letter, but make sure to state the following: His relationship with you and your wife, why you are inviting him e.g. (wedding, vacation, graduation etc), both addresses, duration of his visit, who will pay for his visit. Use terms such as, "we both cant wait to see you and your family again." This should give a basic idea.

Thanks for the fast reply. I called myself looking for a topic like this, but couldn't find one. Then, after posting, under it popped up several other topics exactly like mine. Sorry I posted in the wrong place. It seemed appropriate. Thanks again! ~ Embarrassed

not really easy like that...

An invitation letter will not matter. It is up to your brother-in-law to overcome the presumption that he intends to illegally immigrate to the US. Your invitation letter cannot help him in overcoming that presumption.

yes and not really matter. and not easy
