First - I don't think that Igor's list is completely accurate. There are people on there that I feel have gone further in their process and maybe have never been back to update it.

For example, the one listed that actually put there receipt number 0913951267, received their NOA2 approval a couple of months ago, but has not updated the info, but still appears on Igor's List.

Second - which brings me to a fun game to play if you are bored. As we all know, the USCIS status site does not release any confidential information when you type in the receipt number, but only displays what stage the case is in. So...if you type in any other receipt number than your own, it will give you that same basic information about someone's case. So... if you were really bored, you could find exactly where you are in line, and exactly what date the USCIS was up to.

Example:

EAC [09139] [5] [1267]

The first set of numbers somehow represents the day. I am not exactly sure how, but for example 09242 equates to September 10, 2009.

The second number [5] is for the Vermont Service Center

The third set of numbers is the number of the request received on that day

Keep in mind, every type of request that comes in to the center gets a receipt number, so not all of these are K-1 petitions, but like I said.. if you were really really bored (and obsessed), you could make a list.

Haha, I do work, but I am just so darn obsessed with this thing. I hate that we don't get to know more about what is going on with our files. I get it, but it doesn't mean I have to like it.

Igor's list is under the immigration timelines tab. It looks like it is a composition of everyone on here that has done a timeline and where they fall in the processing order.

That's pretty much exactly what Igor's list is - it is drawn from the database(s) from VJ member's timelines. One reason it is important for folks to create and maintain their timelines.

Capt. Ewok routinely sends out requests for folks to update (and/or create) their VJ timelines - obviously not everyone does.

ONLY at a government website could "09242" mean September 10, 2009.

Haha, Gary and Alla - that is true. I almost thought it was the 242nd day of 2009, I haven't done the math... but that it doesn't work because of the ones starting with 09 are from Fall of 2008. Who knows....

Actually the number does make sense...

Example: EAC [09] [139] [51267]

EAC - Vermont Service Center

09 - Represents the fiscal year. Fiscal year 2009 is from Oct 1st, 2008 through Sep 30th, 2009.

139 - Represents the Julian Day for the Fiscal year (USCIS fiscal year), remember, OCT 1st is the first day for that fiscal years, therefore 001 in a Julian Day format.

51267 - Represents the particular case number.

Wow! Very good... there is only one thing. The 5 is constant. When you try to change it, no cases come up, which is why i believe the last four digits represent the order. But... who knows.

My boredom and obsession has paid off! Today, October 13th, a petition that as issued an NOA1 on September 2 (like me) was approved!

Woo hoo!!

Good luck everyone! SOMEbody at the USCIS is working hard. :)
