Our K1 was approved wayyyyyyyyy faster than we expected. We got NOA2 on october 5, and got hardcopy on october 8. They I got the letter yesterday that NVC got it and sending it to consulate. Now I am so worried we will be stuck in AP. I thought AP was for red flags, or if you had the same name as someone with a criminal record, etc etc, but I just realized it is picked randomly! Anyways, does anyone have any idea what the percentages of packets that get stuck in AP every month? I know I should just wait, but this is killing me. I am planning to call on Tuesday to ask if it is in AP...Thanks guys for your support and advice!

What are you worried about? If this is your reaction so far you're going to have a tough time ahead of you.

Relax!

You're doing wonderful NOA2 in 47 days and your case is headed to the consulate!

Call to verify the consulate received the hardcopy, then follow the procedures for the consulate to get your interview date.

The interview will be your real critical moment, proving a legitimate relationship and that one continues.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

They always send out those letters. In our case we got two, dated a few days apart. We were still stuck in AP for nearly 7 weeks. Everyone that gets stuck there reports getting at least one letter saying it has been sent on, when it clearly wasn't.

Ring them Tuesday and find out.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Even if you do get stuck in AP for 50 days you are way ahead of most people.

When you call Tuesday, don't ask if its in AP, ask if its been sent on to the consulate (think popsitive)

Agreed that you should breath and assume the best instead of the worst here. I got two letters dated a few days apart like cdneh, only to find out we were in AP(52 days).

Just call and ask if its been sent to the consul.

Good Luck!

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

I think they are being trained not to say it is in AP because I called twice and they told me it was just being processed. They would not call it AP meanwhile it's been three weeks since K1 was approved.

Hi all .,I wanted to share with everyone that I called the NVC . Today and they siad my petition has been sent to the consulate.. it was 29 days in AP ..
