Hello,

At my husband's interview he was required to get a joint sponsor because I did not have enough income and was unemployed.

So we got someone to do the forms I864A.

I have a question where I might have rushed and put the wrong or / reversed info. (I-864A)

I know this may sound stupid but i confused myself.

BUT here is the question:

For this form I-864A am i the sponsor or the household member ???

Who fills out the 1st part = household member??? (would it be me (his wife) or my friend who is helping us???

Also this person is not related to me so what should they put on relationship to sponsor, if they put other they have to specify, can FRIEND be written there??

(does this form need to be notorized?

Special thanks!! because I am going out of my mind...

:-((

In the first instance your joint sponsor should be filling out the I-864 NOT I-864A.

I-864A is to be used by somebody who lives in the same household as your sponsor. Like in our case my father in law is filling out the I-864 but he is going to be using the income that my mother in law makes, therefore she is filling out the I-864A.

Not sure if that helps you any.
