I'm writing my cover letter for my I-751 and I'm using the cover letter listed on VJ as a guide. Seeing as I(the resident who is applying to remove conditions) am the primary person applying for status removal shouldn't I be writing the cover letter? Just a thought. Anyone have any feedback?

On a joint petition to remove conditions, you BOTH should write and sign the cover letter. Note that the example in the guides is haphazardly written and needs some corrections. For example:

Enclosed also please find the following documents to verify the status of our marriage and ongoing relationship:

• Copies of the passports and green cards of (immigrant spouse) and (k-2 child).

Copies of passports and green card do NOT verify the status of any marriage.

So take the guides as a guide, but do not copy them verbatum.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Thanks for your response. I have noticed the errors in the cover letter also which is why I'm only using it as a loose guide. It makes sense that it should be written & signed jointly. However it is required by USCIS that you include a copy of the green card.

I posted my cover letter at the pinned topic FAQ.

I separated my documents into exhibits for easy reading, and I inserted a blank page separating the exhibits with a "tab" on the bottom for each Exhibit letter. (I used normal printing labels to make tabs).

I hope this help you as a guide for your cover letter.

I did the much the same. The cover letter was a joint letter from my husband and me. I also included a Table of Contents listing each section and then the documents contained in each section. Instead of a blank sheet separating the tabbed sections, I listed the documents contained within that tabbed section on the page with the tab.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Actually, I did list the documents in each section. I guess I put "blank" but in fact it wasn't really blank. My mistake. I first had them blank, and right before I mailed I decided to print the list on each Exhibit tab.
