Ours was 2 years and 110,000 p...depends whether it's Luzon, Visayas or Mindanao on how fast it goes and how many judges are available for the particular region where filed..Psycological Incapacity is usually the way they go...Making the ex hubby the crazy one, starting with a psycologist that gives a battery of tests to both man and woman of the marriage...from there a lawyer gets involved,,and is true the more generous you are with money pasalubong..the better the results.

our court doesnt accept psychological incapacity... and all annulment was denied.. so what the people do here file the case in other place... they relocate to other place and then from there they will file the case....

uuhhhhmmmmm.. yes i agree with the some posters here if the money talks then all is possible.... PI is a very corrupt country....

and if u can get a refferal much better... get a a very good lawyer, if they can get the provincial atty. much, much better, bcoz they handle the whole place where they will file the petition.. goodluck....

When we were in the Philippines a couple months ago. We petitioned to have my adopted filipina daughters names changed. What a RIPPOFF!!

As soon as they saw I was a "rich American puti" the original price changed. I had to donate an additional P5000 to the judges favorite charity and another P3000 to the DA. Why in the hell they needed a DA to be in court for a name change is beyond me. I guess everyone wanted a "piece of pie".

The whole thing cost me over $500 US for a simple name change.

Bottomline again is don't let them know there's a puti involved. When we were looking for proberty I hid. My wife took pictures of the properties and showed them to me and later made some drivebys.

that was a total ripped off!i had my name changed to at Manila Civil Registrar and it cost me only Php4k,less than $100.i wonder why other people had to mention that they have an american fiance/husband when they can just do it without telling them nothing.the thing is,you allow people to rip u off, that's why they got used to it.

I didn't have much choice as you have to have a adoped childs name changed in court and I had to testify.

I dont know how many times you went to the PI or paid attention to how they roll down there, but it is well known that they will assign you the "Foreigner's Tax" of at least 300% over the normal price. Sounds like you learned your lesson. Some here have learned much more expensive ones. Consider it tuition in the "PI University School of Street Smarts."

btw, you got off cheap, pal. There, feel better, yet? Peace. :star:

Yeah we got ripped off but I don't mind at all as we are fairly well off and the main thing is we got the job done fast after giving the "donations" as we only had a month to get it done. Money talks and BullSh!t walks.

Fine with me.

Wish I could have made some donations to the USCIS director to speed things up in the past naman.

"We" own 4 houses there and spend quite a bit of time in the Philippines.
