GUZ is an appointment post - NVC does not set appointments for them at all.

For a K-1 - once the GUZ number is assigned, UNLESS YOU SLIP INTO AP, it'll be OUT of NVC within a week.

So, you might get some speed out of NVC, you might NOT - it will depend on whether on not NVC solely ships yer casefile with SAFEFILE (Which is an electronic thing ) or if they use DHL to ship your casefile to GUZ.

DOS will tell you 'status' on your casefile, when you call in, and talk with a human (after NVC assigns a GUZ number )...

Historically, it could take 1 to 3 months to be opened by GUZ, another 2 months after that for the interview date.

BUT - IF NVC SOLELY USES SAFEFILE to send the casefile (IE - NO DHL at all ) then you might see some speed - figure 7 to 10 days for GUZ to OPEN the casefile, then the P3 will be sent out to her address in China.

Relax...

You have some more waiting time... The appointment won't be set until the P-3 has been sent out to her (and it's at that point, IMO, that you can keep calling DOS to check for GUZ-assigned appointment date).

Good Luck !

appointments are scheduled accordingly, you cannot call to get an appointment, the only thing you can do, if needed is reschedule, and you email them to do that... GUZ schedules interview twice a month, one at the beginning and one at the end...

All correct except the term "appointment post". GUZ is NOT an appointment post, which is the reason they make their own appointments their own way. NVC makes immigrant visa interview appointments for "Appointment Posts" which most are. GUZ is not.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
