WASHINGTON (AP) - Former President Jimmy Carter says the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to President Barack Obama is a "bold statement of international support for his vision and commitment."

Carter won the peace prize himself in 2002, two decades after leaving office. In a statement, he described the Nobel committee's decision Friday as support for Obama's work toward peace and harmony in international relations.

Carter says the award shows the Obama administration represents hope not only for Americans, but for people around the world.

Hmm, from Carter, the delusional ex-Presdient of all time, no less? (note, I edited the Quote above)

Actually, it's not a bold statement of international support. It's a bold statement of support from 5 politicians selected by the Norwegian government. Even if they are from an assortment of countries, that hardly constitutes international support.

If they had chosen someone who had proven results, they would have some basis. As it is, they have relegated the Nobel prize to the opinion of a couple of politicians who happen to be empowered to give money to someone they agree with.

When was it ever anything else? That's what I find so naive about this acrimonious twaddle from the discontented VJ right wing faction. I can make a case for every single recipient of the prize as being somehow undeserving - including Ms saintly Theresa.

But thats only because you have a vitriolic hatred for Christians and a sympathy for muslims.

I wouldn't say I'm discontented by the whole thing. It will hurt Obama as much as it will help him. I don't think many people will be swayed by the prize.

Even though you can make a case why most recipients are undeserving, they also have a concrete case as to why they are deserving based on actual events. The committee has discredited itself because it has moved from judging actions to judging philosophies. The world has enough vocal ideologues. Obama didn't win or lose (other than the cash). The only loser is the Nobel Prize, which lost any credibility it had.

That is a perfectly reasonable position. I am not Peace Prize follower, I've never cared about the outcome so I can't exactly comment on the validity of the bolded but if that is the case, then the following statement is just.

what have muslim done personaly to you for you to hate them so much?

They attacked innocent people in my country on more than one occasion and as a result I have 3 siblings over there putting their lives on the line.

And I don't hate them. I hate what they stand for.

My last post was mostly a joke directed at Cleo. Sorry to go off topic. Carry on with the topic at hand.

Which reveals your (shock!) prejudice.

You don't think they're "all terrorists", but you hate them because they all stand for the same thing. The mind boggles.

That's kinda like an SS officer in WW2 saying that "everyone knows one good jew".
