Hello Everybody,

My fiancee has her interview in Tokyo one week from today and we feel like we have everything ready for it. The letter from the embassy said that she should bring the original documents with her to the interview and also she should have a copy of the documents for her records. I have read on here that people bring the copies of the documents to the interview with them.

Should she bring the copies with her to the interview or should she leave them at home?

Thanks

Hey GatorFan96,

I would say she should bring 2 copies with her from each Original Document!!!!! Im a German Lawyer-Assistant and from what I learned you dont give your Original Documents out of your hand, if they want it they should make a copie, that's why she should bring her copies, so she has at least the original with her, then to make a copie is easier than to get the original back.

Good Luck

Take care and talk to you later

bye Sandra

You should take your originals plus one copy to your interview. They will want to see the originals, and then you must provide them with a copy of the original to put in her file. If you don't take copies, they will keep your original. They just need to see the original, and then a copy will suffice for the file kept at USCIS.

Good luck at your interview.

Thanks for the reply. Should she take copies of all of the forms as well? Or, just copies of the documents such as birth certificates, email exchanges, and long distance records?

Consular officers may want to see whatever documents previously sent in connection with the application. From what I've read on VJ, it's a good idea to have a copy of the I-129f packet (with the bio form) and the originals for NOA1 and NOA2.

IMO, it wouldn't hurt to have a copy of whatever original document brought to the interview, be they connected to evidence of relationship or to the process itself.

Good luck.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.
