Look, I knew the Nobel Committee wasn't to be taken seriously since they gave the prize to Al Gore, a clearly leftist choice based on nothing but shared ideology. So I'm not one to defend their choices. However, you think Barry deserves this. I'd like for you explain why he deserves it.

Damn that committee! A hillbilly specifically sent them a threatening letter written in crayon that should they ever award the prize to a liberal, the tree of liberty will be watered. This is just begging for a violent Right Wing uprising. Grab your guns and be ready for the signal.

I seee we've found the righteous indignation / outrage story of the day.

How about every other day when the outrage story is about a Republican against health care reform? Or a right wing nut saying something nutty!

I obviously don't know a whole lot about the Nobel Peace Prize because I thought someone had to do a lot more to get it. I don't hate Obama or wish him ill, but the thought of him already getting the peace prize - well, ok then...seems silly to me.

To be honest some people are so biased that they won't criticize Obama when he needs to be criticized and they won't praise him(on the other side) when he needs to be praised either.

Its amazing really that something which does honor to the US, ends up being used as toilet paper for the ever-present partisan divide.

Does anyone outside the US seriously care about the childish spat that passes for political debate between Liberal and Conservative Americans; or is it simply that the American right is such a minority on the scale of world opinion (and in the light of the last 8 years) that spitting the dummy is the best they can muster?

You see, that's just what pisses me off - why is it everything that comes up must be evaluated in light of something entirely hypothetical - for the sake of conversational relativism?

Lets at least be honest here.

I don't know why Obama got the peace prize, and I can't say I much care. Perhaps he doesn't deserve it in the sense of accomplishment - but the fact remains surely - that this is something that was awarded to him by an international panel outside of his control. You can criticise the guy all you like - but its not like he gave himself the award.

You're right Gene - It says more about the morons awarding it that Obama. I never disagreed there.

Its beneficial to go through Obama's failures and weigh them against any accomplishments.. That will tell you whether he deserved it or not. Past winners have been brilliant (minus Gore and the like). B. Hussein Obama hasn't done anything to deserve it.

Obviously the committee disagrees.

Whatever the merits or lack thereof in relation to the prize, I find it strange that you can't view this outside of your own obsession with partisan bias.

Noone outside the US really cares about the petty diatribes between Liberal and Conservative Americans. There is however, a good deal of disdain for the previous administration and its dealings with the world and with its traditional allies.

It could be construed as being affirmative action. Bill CLinton did far more than Obama, and he didn't get it. So clearly the Black President is winning out over the other Black president.
