Joe you fail anew each and every day, its hilarious to watch.

My success scares you.. I am glad you are nervously laughing.

I'm just trying to spread the wealth around like Obama is trying in Detroit and failing (small riots and violence because not everyone will get it.) 65,000 applicants - only 3500 recipients. FAIL

Maybe i should start showing the failures

Gitmo = Fail

Healthcare = Fail

Afghanistan = Fail

Iraq (we're still there) = Fail

Iran = Fail

North Korea = Fail

Chicago Olympics = Fail

Economy = Fail

GM - Chrysler = Fail

The list goes on... Yep, he deserves the Nobel Prize for Failure

Joe, the prize isn't awarded by people with an investment in American partisanship.

You keep saying that, but fail to explain why he deserves it.

For trying.

He'll be the first person ever awarded the Nobel prize for "trying". Also please explain how he has "tried"

I find it a surprising move, but I would hardly say the Nobel Peace Prize is meaningless or useless. Look at some of the past winners: Mother Theresa, Nelson Mandela, John Hume & David Trimble, Elie Wiesel, Desmond Tutu, MLK, Jr....heck, even St. Vincent de Paul Society was nominated last year, which is pretty amazing. If you are viewing it from the perspective of a person/organization who is furthering the notions of peace in the world, then his win does make sense. Perhaps there are many Americans who do not like President Obama, but he has, in fact, furthered the idea of peace.

gitmo - still in operation.

iraq - still going on.

afghanistan - still going on and talk of adding more troops.

north korea - still doing crazy stuff like before.

iran - ditto.

yup, a major change from bush there.........

In diplomacy takes quite a awhile to really accomplish anything. But he has taken strong first steps on issues that bush either ignored or proposed a military solution. Even in the military fronts, it takes time to withdraw equipment and soldiers.

Gitmo - is still in the process of closing down, but many in congress don't want to release them to their home country, or bring them to trial in the US. It will take time to figure out what is happening to all the prisoners.

Iraq - Winding down, but a troop withdrawal takes time.

Afganistan - Is still a clusterf**k.

North Korea - Some overtures to negotiation have been made, but its not as high on the list of priorities right now.

Iran - This will take awhile. Negotiations have started, but it will be a long time before produce real results. It will likely require a change in leadership in Iran to see real progress. But at least we are trying, instead of threatening to bomb them.

What specific "first steps" has he taken that Bush did not?

Obama has bombed Pakistan, so he's also a war-monger. So was Bill Clinton.

If the only way to earn the Nobel Peace prize is by achieving peace, then there wouldn't be any such award to date as the world has yet to see the day when it lives in peace. Rather, the prize is awarded to individuals and/or organizations that work towards that goal and promote peaceful avenues of diplomacy and cooperation rather than military action or other acts of violence.

The US has been on the latter course for the past 8 years and one thing the new President is demonstrating is that he seeks to change that course. Naturally, that does not sit well with the gun toting, chest beating, my-way-or-the-highway crowd that Bush and his inept neo-cons tended to please but it does a heck of a lot more in terms of promoting peaceful coexistence of peoples across the globe and towards the elusive goal of peace in the world than the old road could ever dream to accomplish.

There we go, Joe. You've done your duty to moral relativism ;)

I suppose... as you do on a daily basis. Hence your comment about Bush when he has nothing to do with Obama's award.

Again, my comment is less about Obama, Clinton, and Bush as it is about your hypocrisy. You won't call Obama a warmonger, or Clinton, but you'll call Bush one for doing the same thing.

The comment says so much more about you, than the 3 above.

Fortunately, Joe, people that grasp the concept and complexity of interational relations, organizations and diplomacy get to make these decisions. Quite obviously, you're not one of them.

You're hilarious. You just in soooooo many useless words admitted he has done NOTHING, and yet you still think he deserves an award (even if in a couple years these "TRIES" are failures)

Well... its quite simply really. Obama didn't start the wars, Bush did.

To tell the truth I've never been beholden to any US admininstration, Obama included. Unfortunately, what distinguishes this country from others I've lived in is that you have these die-hard partisan types (like yourself) who are so obsessed with your own biases, that its become impossible to have a rational discussion about politics that doesn't end up diving into the gutter of the partisan divide.

Joe - you are an embarrassment to your country and its the perception of opinions like yours that gives rise to anti-american sentiment overseas.
