Just delegitimizes the award even moreso.

Bill Clinton deserved it far more than Obama and he didn't even deserve it.

Obama hasn't caused peace ANYWHERE - He's only caused more tension, more infighting, more division, etc.

Rush was nominated a year or so ago.. Now there's someone who REALLY deserved it. There is no greater proponent of peace and human rights than Rush Limbaugh.

I find it a surprising move, but I would hardly say the Nobel Peace Prize is meaningless or useless. Look at some of the past winners: Mother Theresa, Nelson Mandela, John Hume & David Trimble, Elie Wiesel, Desmond Tutu, MLK, Jr....heck, even St. Vincent de Paul Society was nominated last year, which is pretty amazing. If you are viewing it from the perspective of a person/organization who is furthering the notions of peace in the world, then his win does make sense. Perhaps there are many Americans who do not like President Obama, but he has, in fact, furthered the idea of peace.

So now we get the Nobel prize for TALKING about peace? You people are seriously deluded in your thinking. Obama has NO accomplishments, and you admit that, yet you still think he deserves it. The prize wasn't meaningless when Mother Theresa won it, or others, but it sure as hell is now. Its most certainly meaningless.

"promoting peace" = talking about peace - - thats all he's done, so thats exactly what it means. What peace deals has he brokered?

Maybe what you need is not a reading comprehension lesson, but just a comprehension lesson. I am glad though that you got a good laugh out of your ever-so clever comment that failed.

For the first time in my adult life, I'm ashamed to be an American.

That's not true and you know it. You and all the other militant right wing nuts have been ashamed ever since he won the election in November last year. At least try to be honest if that's not too much to ask.

I was being as honest as our First Lady when talked about being proud of being an American for the first time in her adult life (after her husband ran for president). Patriotism from her is as believable as a ####### saying, "I love you".

:lol::thumbs:

The correct phrase is "I Love You No ######"

Joe you fail anew each and every day, its hilarious to watch.

My success scares you.. I am glad you are nervously laughing.

I'm just trying to spread the wealth around like Obama is trying in Detroit and failing (small riots and violence because not everyone will get it.) 65,000 applicants - only 3500 recipients. FAIL

Maybe i should start showing the failures

Gitmo = Fail

Healthcare = Fail

Afghanistan = Fail

Iraq (we're still there) = Fail

Iran = Fail

North Korea = Fail

Chicago Olympics = Fail

Economy = Fail

GM - Chrysler = Fail

The list goes on... Yep, he deserves the Nobel Prize for Failure

Joe, the prize isn't awarded by people with an investment in American partisanship.

WPS radio was talking about this, this morning with one guest con, the other pro. Con guy said since when to they award Nobel peace prizes to a guy that didn't accomplish anything yet, good point. Pro gal responded, as opposed to our last administration, at least he is trying to get peace rather than to wage another war, also a good point.

In my life, and perhaps yours, don't get a damn thing for trying, at best, can get a "nice try", but mostly, you failed you idiot. Only time there is an award is by succeeding, but why should one try harder to succeed if they can get an award by just trying? I tend to agree with the con guy on this and those Nobel prize voters should take note of that.

I didn't say he did. My view is that the committee likely awarded the prize to Obama for ideological reasons - because his administration represents a break with the deeply unpopular policies of his predecessor.

Jingoism doesn't require any deep analysis, though perhaps it doesn't occur to you just how deeply divisive and unpopular GWB was.
