This is potentially racist, so I apologize in advance... LOL

But 2 friends and I are all dressing up as Mexicans and are going to be Three Amigos... hahaha We picked up sombreros last night, and some poncho making material, and mustaches, and I have some maracas, and we'll drink only mexican related drinks all night... hahha I'm really excited actually. I think it's going to be hilarious. I'm also going to try to get some other accessories to go with... I have a list... LOL

Think this, without the guns.. lol My friend wants to get cap guns, but I think that's a STUPID f'ing idea, especially since we're going to a bar.. and yet, they say we can't have a pinata... okaaaaay.... not sure I follow the logic (I understand pinatas can be dangerous with drunk people... lol but I was just going to have it with a hole precut and pour candy out of it or something. lol)

Just make sure that you don't get picked up by ICE.

Wasn't prepared for where this thread went. Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeez.

Tell me about it. I guess I shouldn't mention the fact that I'm dressing up as the Frito Bandito for Halloween. :bonk:

Hey bogartnoir maybe you should go out for halloween as a person with a sense of humor... but that would require that you take the stick out of your #######...

Honestly, no one here is out to offend anyone. Halloween could offend loads of people if you think about it. It's no big deal. Lighten up.

Now stop making this thread all about you.... it's freaking halloween! WHO CARES!

Hows about we go back on topic?

What was your favourite and least favourite thing to get in your treat bag?

I loved Kitkats and I hated O'Henry bars.

I always ate them last.

OMG I hated raisins. Who gives out raisins on Halloween?

My favourite were full sized chocolate bars.

Missa, I just went to zellers and they had toques with Canada written all over them. I fit in the kids size, so I think you would too. They're only 12$

My parents threw away all my raisins.

They said they were too easy to taint.

Oh, and if you're going to get a touque, get one with a POMPOM ON TOP!

You make ridiculous statements and then wish to invoke closure. Hmmm. I guess your "position" is not as tenable as you wish us to believe. It speaks volumes about you sir (I use that word with the utmost comtempt) and your lack of civility that you resort to name calling hysterics. I had no idea that the people of Mexico were a homogeneous group and that you were their sole representative. My friends in Vera Cruz will be thrilled to know that you are defending them. I'm not the one that compared a pseudo-Mexican stereotype with blackface minstrels. Save us the righteous indignation, this churlish attitude cheapens the discussion when real instances of discrimination arise. Now do us all a favour and take your own advice and end your postings in this thread.

I think I may have been the only kid to be excited about getting apples. I loved them. My parents threw those away. :crying:

Disclaimer: As the OP of this thread I had no intention of creating conflict or arguments. I now ask that we keep the topic on the joyous and my favourite holiday of halloween and costumes and candy.

I would also like to ask that you maybe take your arguments to PMs? Thanks! :)

Bravo. Bogart, I also believe your attempt to argue this point with any validity ended upon you calling yourselves "filthy mexican". You can't demand everyone respect you for some reason that you cant explain and then throw in a derogitory comment like that (which only you made...no one else in here came anywhere near that) and expect people to be even partially sympathetic to the point you are trying to make and missed completely. As I said before, telling people WHY you find something offensive instead of just telling them it is and being royally bitchy about it will probably go over better and actually get your point across without pissing off a bunch of people who made a thread of fun costumes.
