Tracking NVC DHL Tracking

Can any one clarify a bit for me how tracking the DHL (as described in LingChe) works?

I received the recorded message that "Case was completed on Oct. 2, 2009. Please allow eight weeks for further instructions..."

When does the NVC schedule the interview appointment date before or after the package is sent?

Who (NVC or Embassy) sends the letter?

Any idea where the 8 weeks comes from? I don't see that as a processing time based on the immigration time trends...

Thanks for sharing

Your packet is likely there already.. You should get an interview date of mid to late Nov. Email the consulate with your file # and request the interview date...

OK, your case has been complete on Oct 2nd, that's great... CONGRATS

Now, when NVC says 6-8 weeks for further instructions, it does not mean it's gonna take that long, but sometimes it does. Don't freak out. It's just NVC... Now it will take approximately between 40-60 days to have your interview. Most likely an interview date will be scheduled soon (second week of Oct/Nov) for the beneficiary by NVC. After receiving an e-mail with the interview date, call NVC and check when your file has been sent to the USEM in China. Here I am not very sure how it works for you guys, since China is one of the countries filing electronically. I know there is a member who is creating a thread about it in the WIKI section. Please, look for it. Otherwise, if your process is like everyone else's then after you get the date from NVC when your file has been sent to the China USEM, then go the DHL website, track by reference, write EXP 15OCT 2009A for example and then look for all files that've been shipped to the China USEM that day. There is your file too. Good luck

Also try 2009B and 2009C there is one more instead of EXP OCT 15 write in CORRESPONDENCE

So there is 4 DHL tracking ways to see where packets were sent from NVC to an embassy.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

As long as you can print the cover sheet, send it all in to NVC. Write your NVC case number on ALL pages, upper right hand cornor.

Ok... Things getting confusing.... To answer the OP... (and clarify from ScottThuy)... in IR/CR cases (Vietnam) NVC does the scheduling for the interview (NOT THE CONSULATE, the consulate schedules K3 and K1)....

Scheduling is done normally the 2nd week of the month (aka, next week) for the following month (November)...(sometimes that schedule other weeks, but a bulk of scheduling is done the 2nd week of the month) They say 8 weeks to CYA...

So hopefully you will get something in the next week or so... There are quite a few of us waiting for interviews... So hopefully soon

 information rush here- jk thanks this clears it up alot.

Slightly off topic:

With a CR/IR case, the NVC does the heavily lifting up front by collecting and processing all the 'civil' documents while the Consulate bears this burden for the K-1,K-3 cases because of the intent to move things along faster. At some point, the bottle neck comes back to available CO officers right? Is the purpose of using the NVC in CR/IR to less the admin workload for the Consulate?

Never mind... I already answered what the OP was asking, so electronic filing does not apply to him/her. Whatever! :innocent:
