Did you actually speak with a person?? The automated service never gets the 129 approval information for some reason. Mine went thru in just a couple days but some folks say it can take 2 weeks to a month.

It takes about a week to transit from Vermont to the NVC. Once it arrives, it can take a couple days to a month to be sent to the embassy. Just depends.

They have it. It can take some time to get it in the system (if ever) Ours was nver put in the update system. The update system is 50/50 accuarte at best.

The reason you see some peoples tielines reflect 1 or 2 days is because it is backfilled. I backfilled the date on ours after I received the letter from NVC. when they send the NOA2 letter to you they send the petition to NVC, NVC will get the petition about the same time as you get your letter from USCIS, whether they tell you taht or not. Trying to track this thing like a Fedewx package will make your head explode.

IF there are no delays at NVC, your petition will arrive in Kiev and be entered in the system at the consulate about 3-4 weeks from when you receive the NOA2 in the mail (not email). You cannot make an appointment until the petition is entered in the Kiev system. You can send email to Kiev ans ask if they have the case kyiviv@state.gov

Thanks again Gary. If i write the e-mail to the embassy in Kiev how do I reference my case. Do I use the recepit # since I do not have a case # from NVC(KEV #)?

You will need the KEV number. I would wait about 2 weeks after ou get it. The consulate updates their cases to the call center on Friday afternoon. There is no need to call every day to the call center. Call on Monday mornings, if they do not have the case you will have to wait a week more. The call center cannot make an appointment until they have the case in theur system. The call center is in Warsaw, Poland and only gets what is sent to them. Good nes is that once they have the case, the cnsulate is running3-5 days for an interview, so get all your stuff ready.

I called, NVC said ours arrived 24th sept. left 28 sept. but the letter i got in mail said sent 29 Sept.! Our Noa2 email was 22 Sept. I was very surprised to get KEV number on 24th. 2 Days?? Somehow i do not think dates on notices actually coincide with mailing of 129. Of course now we have no idea where it is! going to call consulate monday for ha ha's

I understand but i thought that you get the KEV# form NVC. If NVC never get the applocation in the system when i call kiev how do i reference my case. Do I give them my last name or hers??. I'm asking thi because you mention in many instances NVC never updates their system and one should contact the embassy directly by e-mail. I guess the quetion is without NVC's responce who provides the KEV#.

Thank-You again for the Info

You have a point there Embassy wants kev number. I got kev from NVC 1st time i called them. I think I would call NVC everyday, consulate will send out packet to fiance, but Ukraine mail is not known for speed or reliability. Might try to email Kiev with USCIS number maybe????

IMO- this is a 'call daily' thing for you, to call NVC each day.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I just called NVC right now and they got my case yesterday and they also provided me with the KEV#; However, the bad news is that my case was selected for AP. How long is that???. This people did not want to give me anymore information as to why my cas was selected and how long it was going to take.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
