total payments for both packages?

Hi all

We're confused about what needs to be paid and what fees are waived.

We're about to send in our I130 and I485 packages. The I485 instructions say that if we file both packages together we don't have to pay the I-130 fee of $355. The fee for the travel document would also be waived. So what needs to be paid exactly? Only the I485 fee of $1010?

also both packages would be sent to this address right?

We filed the I-485 I-130 I-765 I-864 I-864A I-693 & G325A

We paid as follows:

485 $1010

130 $355

765 NO charge because it was filed with the I-485

864 No Charge

693 $280 (this is the medical exam)

352A No Charge

Total $1365.00 (Two separate checks or money orders)

Oops, I meant to say that the fees for I765 and I131 are waived, so yeah that means we still need to pay the 130 form, as well as 693.

Is it standard procedure to send in form I-693 when it's pretty much blank? I only filled out the top part (name, address)... cause naturally I haven't gotten the doctor's appointment yet :rolleyes:

Dont send the I-693 without getting the medical yet. The civil surgeon will fill out the reamining part of the form and will seal it in an envelope. It is advisable that you send the I-693 together with all your forms to avoid a possible RFE. Get an apointment with a civil surgeon asap.

wait, uscis doesn't appoint a civil surgeon to me AFTER i send everything in? I have to get that form filled out by a civil surgeon BEFORE I send everything in? (sorry for going off-topic a little, but it's important to know)

You have to set up your medical with a civil surgeon, they will complete the forms and seal it in a envelope. You will then include that sealed envelope in with your I-130 & AOS packet.

If you do not include the sealed envelope you will get a RFE and you will delay your case. Have the medical done before you file anything....

No, USCIS will not appoint a civil surgeon for you. You woud have to find the closest civil surgeon in your area. You can do that on thecivil surgeon locator on the USCIS locator.

Yes, you have to have it filled out before sending the whole packet.

Medical exams take about a week or could be more depending on the test results.

I'm so glad I caught that... We were going to send everything in tonight! I have my appointment tomorrow at 10.30 :)

Just remember that you have to pay for that appointment. There is a physical, you also need to be up to date on your shots (it's a good idea to bring your shot record, or they will give you all the shots you need), Tuberculosis Test, and blood work (to screen for HIV and syphilis). In total, if you need all your shots, it can run quite high (around $500), but shots are what costs the most. I think if you are cleared for the shots, it's around $200, depending where you go.
