The copout is always the crusades.

Timothy McVeigh wasn't a religious bombing.

Fail fail fail

How many Christians are strapping bombs to themselves, children, mentally handicapped and sending them into crouded areas to take people out? Hmmm?

How many Christians are hijacking planes and flying them into buildings? How many Christians are setting IED's and taking passersby out? Hmmm?

How many Christian families get money from extremist groups if their family members blow themselves up? hmmm?

How many muslims are doing it for that matter?

How many was it who flew the planes on 9/11 - 18?

18 into 1.57 billion. Hmmm...

Liberals really do love their radical muslims thats for sure. Its worldwide. It wasn't only 18 people who were involved in 911. It was a network of 100's of planners. It might behoove you to read the 9/11 comission (bipartisan by the way). It says that its a worldwide network. There were thousands of muslims cheering in the streets around the world when the 2 towers fell. Terrorists come out of Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Palestinian Territory, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, etc etc etc etc... I could go on and on. One thing they have in common is that they are muslim and its the Quran that is driving their militancy.

I know all this Joe, I know there is a lot of anti-american resentment in the muslim world.

The fact remains though that if even half of the 1.5 billion muslims really were militant fundamentalists - you'd have a lot more to worry about than 9/11.

I didn't say they all were. I'm simply asking you how many Christians today do the same things they do? But you don't want to answer the question.

Joe - not all of the terrorism that takes place in the world is motivated by religion. A lot of it is purely factional and political.

Again, I never said all terrorism was religious. But a HUGE amount of it is, and its on the muslim side, but you're still towing the line for them. I guess as long as they're not Christians, they're your friends eh? Who cares how many innocent people die.

Yes it is. So what?

What point are you trying to make with this line of argument?

I don't think any of it is - it's all political.

Catholics vs protestants isn't anything to do with religion either, but the dividing lines appear to make it look as though it is.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Oh yes, the Catholics and Protestants are strapping bombs on themselves and laying waste to Friday Fish Fries and Sunday Pig Roasts.

In Ireland the sectarian groups never couched their disagreements in religious terms - even though (going way back) that was the cause of the problem to begin with.

I think there's more of a religious element to the muslim variant - though less so in the folks like Bin Laden and more in the people they recruit to do their dirty work. Basically, impoverished, poorly educated people who turn to religion because religious schools offer them an education and a roof over their head.

What has the method of terrorism to do with the price of fish? Is this the terror gold standard? If your terrorists will suicide bomb they are real terrorists and if they will not, they are not? Priceless, as usual.

The emotional drive is exactly the same whatever terms it is couched in. The people who do the dirty work do so because they feel they are being oppressed. The leadership feeds that feeling of oppression with whatever fuel is at their disposal.
