Good point - I smell crusade in the air.

"Crusade" :rofl:

I'm trying to another Crusade where the "oppressed" came to the Crusader to be converted or killed.

So, you are saying that the John Galts of this world are few and far between in America?

There are lots of us that believe:

1. Radical Islam is a problem (opinion)

2. The vast majority of Muslims are peaceful (opinion)

3. One can not leave Islam (fact)

I'm sure the only one you will agree with is #2. Someday you may wake up. I hope you do.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt

I think that's the politically correct version of your opinions - given that you consistently appear unable to separate #1 from #2.

Considering the growth rate of Islam, it is only going to get bigger. My husband's parents had 7 children. Many Muslim families have large numbers of children compared to other religions. I think the important thing is working toward understanding each other and trying to live in peace.

Seems to me that if 1.5 billion people were after blood and destroying the infidel - then we'd have a lot more to worry about than scattered acts of terrorism.

Extrapolating the figures from the survey, the Islam that is largely practised around the world, particularly in large swaths of Asia, is more moderate and integrated than its stereotypical characterisation as an often militant and intolerant faith.

It certainly used to be the case that Islam as practiced in Asia was "more moderate and integrated". I'm not sure how true that is recently.

In the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the southern provinces of Thailand there are virulent Islamic insurgencies which have committed violent atrocities in the name of their faith. In south Thailand alone, there have been murders of Buddhist monks and desecration and destruction of Buddhist temples by these insurgents. These movements, particularly Jemaah Islamiah and Lashkar Jihad have al Quaida links and the Imams associated with these groups speak the same virulent hatred of the West, America and Israel that their Arab (and Afghan and Pakistani and Iranian) extremist counterparts do.

Indonesia and Malaysia, the largest Muslim nations in eastern Asia (as distinguished from the MidEast and central Asia) both still refuse to recognize the state of Israel, despite the fact that Jordan, Egypt and Morocco all have established diplomatic relations with Israel.

Certainly the vast majority of east Asian Muslims are peaceful and not radicalized. But there is a strain of extremism in that part of the world every bit as vicious as found in the "heartland" of the Islamic world.

So, you are saying that the John Galts of this world are few and far between in America?

There are lots of us that believe:

It's rare (very rare!) for me to agree with much of what John Galt has to say on VJ.

I do agree with your opinions 1. and 2. above. Radical Islam is a very serious problem, one of the most dangerous of our times. And, the vast majority of Muslims in the Arab world, in the greater Islamic world, and in western countries, are peaceful and law abiding and mean no harm to anyone. I believe both of those statements to be true.

3. is not quite as factual as you state. In a high-profile visible case of a Muslim deciding to stop practicing the faith, the family or community may intervene (or worse!). But an individual who decides to quietly stop practicing (esp. in the West) should have no trouble doing so. Do a Google search for "Leaving Islam" and you'll find plenty of testimonials from ex-Muslims.

Shucks, darnit there's one living in my home already.

Aaaach!!! One is in my house, too!! O wait..that's me, Never mind.

There are at least two in our house, and often more. No wars have broken out.

Since one can't convert from Islam, the numbers can only grow.

Celebrate diversity.

I know multiples of people who have converted from Islam. Four of my cousins and two of my aunts are no longer Muslim. Tamara's husband left Islam, as have many people who converted to Islam and then left. All of them are still hanging out with Muslims and none are afraid we will kill them, cause we won't.

BTW, the Quran says that there will be Christians and Jews in Allah's heaven. I don't believe that Christianity teaches that Muslims and Jews will enter Christian heaven.

The one thing I have always wondered about someone who is a die-hard Burca wearing Muslim is, why would you migrate to a country that basically has the opposite ideals to that of your own beliefs. After all, there is bound to be tension.

I wonder if the Europeans who invaded Australia and oppressed the aboriginines considered that.

Those numbers are figures to create fear.................. For we brought nothing into the world and we can take nothing out of it.

Im standing up for Christ Jesus with my head high :star: , That is what matters to me,

For God does not see the same way people see. People look at the outside of a person, but the Lord looks at the heart.

Muslims know Jesus, too :luv:.
