Sure why not? Causality can be masked quite easily. The religious aspect can be easily justified using morality (warped as it may be at times). Hence we've had crusades perpetrated and violence taken on a more 'individual' aspect in some sectors while in others its a bit more organized.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Obviously I agree, except that I would say that the [im]morality is being justified by the religious aspect rather than vice versa.

One man's sinner is another's savior- and sometimes they're preaching to the same flock and praying to the same deity. Crazy people are everywhere.

Yeah, we just had a guy that killed his ex, put her in his trunk, drove to the top of the skyway, set her body on fire, and then jumped off the bridge. Of course, it turns out that she was involved in some oddball religious group: "Science of Mind Center", which they referred to using the oxymoron: "Religious Science Church."

Ugh... a friend of mine that's a Coastie used to be one of the guys that had to remove smashed bodies that would hit the cement beams on that bridge.

Yeah, my cousin is in the CG and was stationed here for a long time... though this guy was pulled out by fishermen.

Still, I am encouraged Simpson, at least I can count on you to vote for a muslim in coming elections. Bravo!

The Muslims aren't the only ones fighting this war. I believe the Americans and Brits are involved, no? I believe there may be some Xtians and others involved, no? You can't exactly fight a war one sided.

 I see, that's your point is it? That because those fighting against the muslims aren't muslim it can't be a religious war. Brilliant.

Actually, if we would get out, the Muslims WOULD be the only ones fighting the war. Muslims are much more efficient at killing other muslims than our troops. I think we shoud get out of Iraq and let Iran and Iraq go at it again like they did in the 80s. Only Muslims were killed and they had to sell oil to pay for killing each other and oil went to less than $10 barrel. Given the economy today I think we could get oil down there to under $20 which would get a whole lot of economical things going here, we could sell bullets and guns to the muslims.

you are aware that the US had a hand in provoking this war, right? so you are saying it'd be ok to do it again because oil prices would go down? i'm just confused here.

Remove head from a5s

Why would Iran and Iraq go to war if we pulled out?

the reasons are many because the only thing they can agree on is there hatred for Israel.

Was anything made in the U.S? I can't recall seeing any major system in the Iraq arsenal but then again I saw the stuff in the division museum across the street from my barracks after the Gulf War.

No, but one service man had his wife buy one lotto ticket, which hit for $48m, and he retired a happy man.
