Do I need to have the medical exam?

My AOS interview will be in August. I had a medical exam overseas before I came here, do I need to have another one again in the U.S. before the interview?

as long as it is not past 1 yr. I had mine done in Canada, but when it came time for the AOS mine was over 1 yr so I had to pay another 210.00 and have another one

What did you send in along with the AOS application as far as medical was concerned?

As long as you got the vaccination supplement filled in here (some send it in with application, others bring it to the interview) and your original medical exam in your country is less then a year old you are all set.

if you sumit the vaccinatination form don't worry if less than 1 year

they are right, as long as your medical is not over a year when you file your AOS, it will be fine.This is what i insisted to the deisgnated Physician, but not all will follow, so i look around until i have talked to another Doctor that understand the process for K-1 medical.All you need is a complete vaccination that will be reflected on the Supplemental vaccination Form I-693.

As long as the AOS was filed within 1 year of your medical exam overseas then you are fine. It doesn't matter how long they take to process the AOS. All you need is your vaccination supplement.

EXCEPTIONS:

2. Ks: If you were admitted to the United States as a fiance(e) (K-1), child of a fiance(e) (K-2), Spouse of a U.S. citizen (K-3), or child of K-3 (K-4), and received a medical examination prior to admission, then you do not require another medical examination as long as your application for adjustment of status (Form I-485) is filed within one year of your overseas medical examination. You will, however, be required to submit a vaccination supplement with our adjustment of status application. The vaccination supplement must be completed by a designated civil surgeon.
