hi guys.

this is how it is:

my hubby and i had our wedding ceremony april 23rd but on paper it's april 30th. he left on the same day going back to the US. he can only here for 11 days due to work that's why we held the ceremony earlier. will we have a problem with NVC or during USEM interview? :unsure: oh also some of our wedding pictures have timestamps of april 23rd.

anybody have had problems with this?

Visa Journey

08/01/2009 - Sent I-130 package

09/18/2009 - I-130 approved

09/30/2009 - Case number assigned

12/17/2009 - Failed log in / Case completed YES!!

02/03/2010 - VISA interview at 830am -- VISA APPROVED

03/06/2010 - POE San Francisco via PAL

04/17/2010 - GC and SSN in the mail

ROC

01/06/2012 - Sent I-751 package to CSC

01/09/2012 - I-751 delivered at 11:12am / Date of NOA1

01/12/2012 - Check cashed

01/14/2012 - Received NOA1 hard copy

01/20/2012 - Date of ASC Appointment letter

12/13/2014 - N-400 delivered at 10:13 am

12/15/2014 - Date of NOA

12/16/2014 - Date NOA was received by USCIS

12/22/2014 - Received NOA (hard copy) in the mail

12/30/2014 - Date of Yellow Letter

01/04/2015 - Received yellow letter in the mail

01/07/2015 - Biometrics appointment

01/09/2015 - In line for the interview

01/16/2015 - Received interview letter in the mail

02/13/2015 - Interview date (Approved)

04/03/2015 - Oath Ceremony

It would be better if hubby makes another trip or attends your interview.

Why would the paper reflect a different date than the actual wedding date?

why different dates? was it just a typo error? so, which date do you celebrate (just curious) and which one did you put on forms?

February 26, 2010--SSN received
REMOVING of CONDITIONS
December 22, 2011-- I-751 mailed
February 28, 2012-- Biometrics done
October 10, 2012-- 10-yr GREEN CARD received
NATURALIZATION
January 09, 2013-- sent N-400
January 28, 2013-- Biometrics

May 22, 2013-- Interview Passed- Officially a US Citizen!

Why would the paper reflect a different date than the actual wedding date?

the lady at the civil registrar advised that. it's cos of the 10 day waiting period after applying for the marriage license.

this was the timeline:

april 19 - day he arrived (sunday)

april 20 - went to USEM to get his legal capacity to marry

april 20 - went to city hall and filed the marriage license.

april 23 - wedding ceremony

april 30 - day he left for the US, also the date on the marriage contract

although we already submitted all the requirements for the marriage license before he came except for the LCM, the lady said that she can only start posting it (counting the 10 days) on the day we submit the LCM :( and that the wedding date on paper can't be within that 10 day waiting period.

why different dates? was it just a typo error? so, which date do you celebrate (just curious) and which one did you put on forms?

hi chris@beth, we put april 30 on forms. for us, we consider the 23 as our wedding day.

Sound like you may have issues

I don't understand why someone would fly that far and then try to "mess" around with wedding date.

Hopefully someone else has seen this before and can give you a better answer

Hi there.

We were in a similar situation.

Our wedding ceremony was January 2, but our marriage license didn't come out until January 5. On our NSO Marriage Certificate, our legal marriage date is the same date on the marriage license, January 5. My husband left for the U.S. the next day, January 6.

We didn't submit the marriage license, nor were we asked to. I don't think NVC requires that. There are a number of VJ members who have had an advance ceremony. As long as the NSO Marriage Certificate date is on or after the date of the marriage license, you have a legal and valid marriage.

Of course, my husband was here before that (August 2008). His second trip to the Philippines was when we got married.

02-23-2018: Sent N-400 Application online

02-23-2018: Date on NOA, retrieved from online account

02-23-2018: Date on Biometrics Appointment Letter (Biometrics Appointment at Jacksonville ASC on March 13, 10:00 a.m.)

03-08-2018: Biometrics complete

04-05-2018: Case status updated - Interview Scheduled on May 10, 2018, 10:15 a.m. :D

05-10-2018: Citizenship Interview - Passed English and Civics Tests, Recommended for Approval! :D 

06-19-2018: Received email and text notification: Naturalization Ceremony Scheduled; waited for letter to be uploaded on online account - it has been set on Wednesday, July 25, 3:00 p.m.

07-25-2018: I am now a U.S. Citizen!

just tell the truth if ever the consul ask you about that...i know that usually this happened to those who have limited time of stay before the wedding day coz it is in philippine family code to post the marriage license application 10 days before the wedding date..

my point is just be honest...

Sept. 14, 2009 - NOA2 hardcopy received by husband

Nov. 4, 2009 - CASE COMPLETE @NVC!

Nov. 13, 2009 - interview date assigned by NVC

DEC. 10, 2009 AT 6:30AM

re scheduled DECEMBER 1, 2009- INTERVIEW - white slip (passport and medical results from st. luke

Dec 14, 2009 - VISA received

I think your only problem really is that the date of your wedding and the date of when your husband left the Philippines are the same. As long as you can get away with that, then I think you'll be fine. Like what the others said if he has the time to visit you before or right when you get a schedule for your interview, that would be great.
