The answer is probably right under my nose but I can't seem to find anything just yet...

It says on page 3 of the I-130 instruction sheet (http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-130instr.pdf) for petitioners living in WA to send it to:

USCIS

P.O. Box 804625

Chicago, IL 60680-4107

Then on page 4 it says:

NOTE: If the Form I-130 petition is being filed concurrently with Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, submit both forms concurrently to:

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services P.O. Box 805887 Chicago, IL 60680-4107

For couriers/express deliveries:

USCIS

Attn: FBAS

131 South Dearborn - 3rd Floor

Chicago, IL 60603-5517

Is the courier/express delivery only for those who are filing concurrently with I-485, or is that for anyone living in any state who wants to send their package by courier/express?

Thanks!

Since you have not made a timeline or indicated what visa you are seeking, it is difficult to accuratly answer that question. Are you K3, K-1, IR/CR1, or AOS and is your Significant Other in the USA or abroad??? If you can kindly clarify, it is easier for us to get you the correct answer...Thanks!

However, since you are filing I-130 I am assuming that you are IR/CR with your SO abroad, therefore the address are;

Petitioners who reside in AK, AZ, CA, CO, Guam, HI, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NE, NV, ND, OH, OR, SD, UT, WA, WI, or WY must file their stand-alone Form I-130s with the Lockbox using the following address:

USCIS

P.O. Box 804625

Chicago, IL 60680-4107

Petitioners who reside in AL, AR, CT, DE, FL, GA, KY, LA, ME, MD, MA, NH, NJ, NM, NY, NC, OK, PA, Puerto Rico, RI, SC, TN, TX, VT, VA, U.S. Virgin Islands, WV, or District of Columbia must file their stand-alone Form I-130 with the Lockbox using the following address:

USCIS

P.O. Box 804616

Chicago, IL 60680-4107

Any U.S. resident petitioner submitting a completed I-130 by courier/express delivery, should use the following address:

Oops, sorry about that...

We're seeking an IR-1. We haven't filed anything yet so that's why I don't have a timeline. This I-130 is the very first step.

My husband is in the US.

Thanks!

Well, Welcome, you will find this website a HUGE help and resource, but I will warn you... EVERYONE will tell you to create a profile and make a timeline... They get a bit cranky when folks do not fill in the info... Plus it helps to keep accruate stats and so people can get an idea of who you are, where they are filing from and can assist you better...

Best of luck on your Journey... BTW.. What country is your SO

Well, this gets even more convoluted, right? Husband is in US, where are you? which one of you is the US Citizen?

IF BOTH OF YOU ARE STATESIDE and have no plan of returning to the original country to wait normal I-130 processing with a consulate interview, then by all means file the I-130 and the I-485 concurrently to the proper address (not the regular I-130 address, btw ) .

I'm a fan of the US Citizen getting intimately involved with the petition filing process - it's a wonderful new exposure to Government Forms and 'the rest of the immigration process'. IMO, ultimately, it's that USC who's responsible :D

Welcome aboard, have fun - etc etc..

I'm still trying to get familiarized with this site here with timelines and such. I've filled something out but it's not showing up in my sig. Oh well. I'll play around with it tomorrow.

My husband just became an American (he's originally from Australia) last month and I'm in Canada. I decided to post here rather than the Canada forum b/c it's specifically for IR-1.

My husband got his green card when he was a teen but apparently his dad's company lawyer dealt with it all so this frustration is all very new for him ^_^

Thanks for your help!

Is the courier/express delivery only for those who are filing concurrently with I-485, or is that for anyone living in any state who wants to send their package by courier/express?

Thanks!

Yup - stick with the I-130 for now, don't worry about the I-485 at all.

Thanks for filling us in, I do so hate to have to 'rent clues' on this type of stuff.

re: timeline in sig - you can manually add it.
