At 3:30am I got another text message on my cellphone from USCIS informing me that my case is now updated. So I got worried so I got up went to my laptop and checked my case, the date now shows 2/4/2010 which is I guess a touch, but no change in the status.

I guess they are just screwing with me now

not sure why you got that, but anyway it takes a couple of weeks to get the card. Regardless of that, if the request is now approved..it's all good :)

Just... chillax :)

Hey anyone thinking about applying for citizenship after being done with this? Please let me know.

Thanks!

Forgive the dumb question which probably has a very obvious answer  but how did you calculate and pick Aug???

When can one apply for citizenship???

I could go online and find the answer but why bother when I can pick V333k's brains....

My AOS approval for permanent residence was in November 2007, and citizenship eligibility through marriage is 3 years; therefore, November 2010 is my 3 year anniversary. Just like ROC, they allow to apply as early as 90-days from your 3rd anniversary (August for me). The only difference is that you don't need to apply within the 90 days since your GC is valid for 10 years.

I think that is a good and accurate assessment of reality. So I guess there is no good way to address my comment...

here Im posting the same thing with corrections

OMG I got a compliment from V333k the Guru of VJ....

VJ has about 30-40 folks who are are registered here for each month of filing & we all know how many millions are going through this drama...so it makes me feel better already.

Maybe lot more people are sent to VCS than CSC (coz VSC is really efficient ;) and CSC has to deal with very few hence they are really fast....

My My the assumptions we make to fool ourselves...

I am sure of that, but I think that the list of people registered here is a good random sample representing the total number of applicants.

Oh, I am not a VJ guru... I just spend a lot of time on it reading posts educating myself.... but thanks for the compliment.

We just got a RFE, I am so mad!! We sent in everything we could think of. Here is a list - tax returns in both names for 2007 and 2008, health insurance and life insurance in both names, 2 car registrations in both names, notorized affidavits from 2 people regarding our relationship, proof of a joint bank account - checking and savings, holiday cards addressed to both, pictures from the past 2 years (a few from each season of each year), copy of my passport and license showing my name change, and an intinary of our upcoming vacation in 2/10 showing that we will both be going on a cruise together.

Our mortgage and our household bills are all in my name because they were all already established when my husband got here and I never really saw a need to change them. I would have done so if I thought we needed to but I thought we had plenty of evidence.

Anyone have any ideas of additional info to send them? Thanks in advance for your help!!
