Hi everybody,

I am an October's filer for ROC and just did my biometrics today at the ASC for the second time.One month ago, I received the second biometrics appointment letter stating that my first biometrics could not be read by the FBI and then gave the appointment date for a second biometrics.

The biometrics technician ,while doing my fingerprints, told me today that she is pretty sure that this time will not work neither.

Did somebody have this kind of experience that the second fingerprint could not be read by the FBI and in this case, what will happen next ?

I would appreciate if somebody would share his or her experience and knowledge on the matter.

For reason the technician gave me is I have very thin prints on my fingers (so not enough crease I guess) that show on the picture. :(

She also told me to go the city police to get a police clearance certificate and prepare to send them in case received a rejection letter again.

That seems odd! I guess you can wait and see if it goes through or you receive a third biometrics notice. Did she give you a reason why it will not work?

You can call USCIS any time you want. That doesn't mean they will/can do anything for you. They require 6 months, and I was told you have to wait 30 days after the 6 months to prove it's past the average (lol).

I am traveling also start of Feb. I was hoping to have this all wrapped up in December, but alas not. I don't care anymore I am going for citizenship in 9 months.

I am traveling to Canada on February 4th. I have yet to receive my new GC. I am assuming I need to take my 1 year extension letter with me in my passport with my GC to re-enter the US on the 7th?

I travel back and forth all the time. No problems I just give them the letter with my card. I live a stone throw from the border, so I'm an old hat at crossing.

.....and playing the waiting game too...lol!

Oct 5 - NOA mailed

Oct 13 - 1st NOA received and additional letters for my daughters I filed with. NOAs stated Resident Status

has been extended for 1 year and that we will be receiving a letter for an ASC appointment for

fingerprints, photo, and signature.

Dec 2009 - Received 10 year permanent resident card.

Feb 2010 - My children received their 10 year permanent resident cards.

Oct 2010 - My children were legally adopted by my USA Citizen husband.

I can't help but notice that there seems to be quite a difference in levels of service between the Vermont and California service centers. Isn't it illegal for the government to show preferential treatment of one group of citizens/residents over another? Seems like this is a pretty clear cut case where depending on the state you live in, you either get service (albeit bad) or no service at all.

What further angers me about this is a couple years ago when we were getting our K3 visa, we were sent to the California Service center and it was the bad center for service. Now, we are being sent to Vermont and it appears to be the bad service center.

Just curious if anyone has ever officially complained about this and what the results were. Seems pretty unfair to me.

Wife's visa journey:

03/19/07: Initial mailing of I-129F.

07/07/11: U.S. Citizenship approved and Oath Ceremony!

MIL's visa journey:

07/26/11: Initial mailing of I-130.

05/22/12: Interview passed!
