We already went through this months ago when you posted those figures about the top ranked poorest cities not being exactly in line with the most crime ridden.

You take isolated statistics and try to draw unreasonably wild conclusions from them.

There was nothing wrong with those stats. All I did was listed the top 15 cities with the highest crime rates and then also listed the demographics of these cities. Not to mention the leaders of these cities who were all democrats. To the contrary, it's you guys who tried to excuses this and draw conclusions about poverty. Whereas, I has not drawn any conclusion apart from the reality that the most violent cities have large minority populations.

Had I known about this earlier, I could have even gone a step further and illustrated the demographics of the states with the lowest crime rates in the US. With crime rates lower than most European nations. I forgot who brought this to my attention but its a great find and says a lot.

Once again though, this is not a blame game or simply finger pointing. It's about identifying the issue, the problem, in order to best deal with it. Where you and I disagree is that you want to ponder the why; whereas, I want the problem fixed.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with the stats (and that isn't what Cleo said either) - only the way you interpret them. For example on the basis of those statistics about poverty and crime - you derided the idea that there was a link between the two. The problem is that you made the assumption that both of these things are uniform across a city and that there are no differences between different neighborhoods or districts.

That's bad interpretation on your part - a prime example.

And I've yet to see how you want the problem fixed - pretty much all you ever do is point fingers while decrying why it is that the US can't turn itself into a police state.

Because its easier to blame 'certain demographics' and suggest that the constitutional rights for those groups be curtailed or suspended because they're the ones causing the trouble
