The Consulate has finally allowed me to set my interview date. I found that out when I called up this morning. I just have a few questions:

1. I haven't received any letter yet from the Embassy. Will I be asked to mail them some documents (or copies of originals) such as NSO birth certificate, CENOMAR, NBI clearance, etc. prior to the interview date or I will only bring those during my actual interview?

2. My medical exam will be on October 13 (it may take another day to complete that) and the representative from the Visa Information Service said that she could give me October 27 for my interview. I told her that my fiance and I have been planning to attend his sister's wedding on October 24. I requested her to move the date to the earliest possible slot. She dropped the interview date on October 20.

When St. Luke's declares on October 14 that I passed the medical exam, may I just walk-in for an interview on October 16 or call the Visa Information Service and reschedule my interview right away?

Another option... When I follow my interview date, October 20 (it's at 7 a.m. anyway), will the Consulate allow me to pick up the Visa on October 21 instead of letting them mail it to me to Cebu? Do I have to make this arrangement before my interview or during my interview?

I know it's so dragging but it will be such a wonderful time to meet his family for the first time before or at his sister's wedding. My fiance lives in California while his marrying sister resides in New York, his married sister in New Jersey, and his parents are in Pennsylvania.

Your ideas will be greatly appreciated. Meow!

- You don't need to mail all those documents. Take them with you in your interview because the pre-screener will ask for them too. Well that's in my case and I think it's how the process before - Like you have to send documents together with the forms you need to fill up.

-Yeah usually medicals took 2 days to complete it. It depends on how many applicants are there on that day. Specially if you are on your period, they'll ask you to go back when it's gone. I had my first part of the medical done till the physical exam and so on my first day until they asked me on my period. That was my first day so wait till it's over and went back there.

When St. Luke's declares on October 14 that I passed the medical exam, may I just walk-in for an interview on October 16 or call the Visa Information Service and reschedule my interview right away?

-I think you can't because there are people scheduled for that day. You may have to call them to reschedule it.

Another option... When I follow my interview date, October 20 (it's at 7 a.m. anyway), will the Consulate allow me to pick up the Visa on October 21 instead of letting them mail it to me to Cebu? Do I have to make this arrangement before my interview or during my interview?

-Again I would think no.. Most of you scheduled on that day would be on same time too. In my own experience, I had it for 7 AM, have my fingerprinting and some other stuffs you needed to do inside the embassy, until I got my interview at 1:15PM. There are even scheduled 6 AM and yet didn't finished early. Well, again it depends I am just saying what I had experienced. You could get some more ideas here too. I could be wrong and this might just happened to me. I am sure you'll get more ideas here..Hope I got to give you a little bit idea. God Bless in your processing...

I know it's so dragging but it will be such a wonderful time to meet his family for the first time before or at his sister's wedding. My fiance lives in California while his marrying sister resides in New York, his married sister in New Jersey, and his parents are in Pennsylvania.

I know and understand you completely...

You need to do it earlier to have any chance of making the dates your talking about and then you probably won't. You can do your medical as a walkin...just go and arrive their early in morning and do the medical. But even if you went Monday its only gonna be a day or so quicker. You need to have at least 7 days from medical to interview so they get the info to the embassy.

When St. Luke's declares on October 14 that I passed the medical exam, may I just walk-in for an interview on October 16 or call the Visa Information Service and reschedule my interview right away?

There is no such thing as a walkin interview. You can check and see if you can take a time someone else may have cancelled.

Another option... When I follow my interview date, October 20 (it's at 7 a.m. anyway), will the Consulate allow me to pick up the Visa on October 21 instead of letting them mail it to me to Cebu? Do I have to make this arrangement before my interview or during my interview?

I have heard of people being allowed to pick up their visa but more often they don't but its worth a try.

I know it's so dragging but it will be such a wonderful time to meet his family for the first time before or at his sister's wedding. My fiance lives in California while his marrying sister resides in New York, his married sister in New Jersey, and his parents are in Pennsylvania.

It's really gonna be difficult for you to make it happen this quick but I wish you all the luck in the world.

I hope you already attended the CFO seminar so that you can fly right away after you pick up your visa.

1. yes, you bring everything you have on the interview date, don't send anything

2. why not have your medical earlier than oct 13 if you're in a hurry? the earlier the better, you can go there anytime, no appt needed.

3. no such thing as walk-in interiview, yes you have to call them to reschedule. your medical results do not get sent to the embassy the next day anyway

4. give the CO a good reason to allow you to pick up the visa yourself, some of them do, some don't, but no harm in trying, arrange for it after the interview (after he/she says you passed), not before

Bring all your supporting documents on the actual interview.

I suggest that you take your medical one week or more before your interview. This will give St. Lukes enough time to forward your medical result to the Embassy. You wouldn't want to be put on AP because this.

You can ask the CO after your interview if you can personally pick-up your visa.

Good luck.

Thanks to all of you who shared some helpful points.

I wished I could have done the medical exam ahead but after our NOA2 on August 25, it took the USCIS until September 22 to transfer our case to the NVC. Had we not contacted California's 31st district representative, I wouldn't know anymore how long the USCIS could have kept our case for no reason. The NVC received our case on September 25 while my fiance received the NVC letter on October 5, exactly the day my red flag soared up.

My medical exam will be on the 13th of this month. I truly hope and pray things go faster and easier this time.

God bless us all.
